Nicole Beharie Attends the 2016 American Black Film Festival

Nicole Beharie Takes Part in Black Women in Hollywood Panel at the 2016 American Black Film Festival

The American Black Film Festival was held over the weekend and wouldn’t you know it, my favorite actress: Sleepy Hollow’s Nicole Beharie, was in attendance. Nicole took part in Saturday’s Black Women in Hollywood panel and was joined by fellow actresses Teyonah Paris (The Miki Howard Story), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away with Murder) and Emayatzy Corinealdi (Middle of Nowhere).

The panel was moderated by Soledad O’Brien and according to the ABFF, was filled to capacity. I’m sure a lot of the people in attendance were hoping to get some tea on Nicole’s shocking exit from Sleepy Hollow, but alas, it appears once again no one decided to broach the topic.

This is the second such panel Nicole has done since her character was killed off in the season finale, and still we’ve yet to hear her official take on the matter.

Hopefully third time’s a charm, as Nicole is rumored to be attending this year’s Essence Music Festival to take part in their Empowerment Experience panel.

*Fingers crossed*

  1. I hate to say this but black folks don’t know who Nicole is and did not watch Sleepy Hollow. That’s why when she attends these black women in Hollywood events no one asks her about the show. They don’t know about the hoopla and probably never even heard of the show. Now if she turns up at Comic Con she’ll be asked about it.

  2. I saw bits and pieces of videos online and the event seemed pretty lame to me. The questions were generic and it came off as nothing but a feel good event. Soledad was also the wrong person to moderate such an event. Someone from the acting world or a critic would have been much better, like Roland Martin who was also there.

  3. I don’t think we’re ever gonna hear what happened from Nicole’s own mouth.
I also agree with Traci. The only black folks I know who know Nicole or watch Sleepy Hollow are online. The black media has all but ignored Nicole for the past three years. They’re only interested in Kerry and Viola, Shonda’s girls.

  4. She just needs to get a good profile new gig. As it is, SH and any discussion and details behind what happened are just irrelevant.
I just want to still be checking for her in another couple years. It’s time to take-off, Nicole.

  5. The thing I liked about Jackie Kennedy is that she never talked about the messes in her life. I hope NB never talks about what happened at FOX. I want her to go on to do bigger and better things as though SH never happened. But, she should never forget how terribly she was treated.
