Oh Puleeeeeze!
While browsing the net today I came across another one of those “Why doesn’t Beyonce Go Away For A While” articles and that was it- I knew I had to vent about this issue or risk popping a vein. Now I know the name Beyonce either evokes love or hate in most people but just for a moment, let’s try and put all those emotions aside and address this topic rationally and without prejudice.
First off, any time I read an article where people are suggesting successful people stop being successful, I automatically wonder why? Why are folks so anxious to get rid of a woman who appears to be giving people exactly what they want- good music? I don’t recall the media screaming for Madonna to go away as she ruled the 80’s and early 90’s, putting out an album every other year. Likewise, Mariah Carey released an album a year for 10 years straight and not once did the media suggest she go away and give “her fans” a break.
So the $50,000 question is why are so many media outlets coming out against Beyonce and why are we as Black folk jumping on the bandwagon to destroy one of our own? Love her or hate her Beyonce has earned her time in the spotlight and should not be punished by the media for being a success at what she does. I also cannot help but wonder if Britney and Christina were still at the top of their game, would the media be so quick to tell them to go away?
Ordinarily, I would come right out and say why I think the media wants Beyonce out of the way *cough* to remove all competition for Britney Spears and her comeback *cough*, but decided to step back and instead allow you all to give your opinions on why you think the media seems to be turning against our sister and one of the few female artists who have shown that they can consistently deliver hits.

I don’t usually like the word hater cause I think it is used way too often. In this case however I am going to have to agree with you. Only her non fans want her to go away. Beyonce is on her game and knows that being out there in the public performing is what keeps you on top. Her promotion game is tight and I ain’t bout to attack her for that. Personally I’m tired of people like Paris and Britney who get shoved down our throats for doing foul trash like spreading their legs while not wearing any panties.

Wow, Beyonce’ is definitely not comparible to Mariah. Mariah has some of the most beautiful songs/ballads ever and I look forward to them with each album. And I have to disagree, Christina A. is still at the “top of her game”, her cd was amazing. I prefer to listen to her songs over any B-Day track. I also hate to make it a race thing when it comes to music.
I don’t dislike Beyonce but most of her songs are for the club, and I really enjoy them there. I wish her much success as I would anyone else. The other artists mentioned have had times when, unless you’re a true fan, you didn’t hear or know much about their actions or whereabouts which is okay. It’s okay to take breaks, they are only human.

And just like Beyonce…Christina, Britney and Mariah (just to name a few) have all earned their time in the spotlight for being successful at whatever they do. Everyone has their time and that’s just the business they chose.

Beyonce is an icon and that threatens a lot of people. She is the most charismatic female artist to come along since Janet but unlike Janet, Beyonce has no other female on the scene who comes even close to matching her success. Janet and Whitney dominated the eighties and in the nineties Mariah came along and joined them. Women once dominated the music scene period. Now few artists are kicking butt and even fewer of them are women and Black and the fact that the biggest artist in music today is Black and female bothers a lot of people. I am so happy somebody has decided to think outside the box and not just jump on the bandwagon to take down a Black woman who is changing the game as we know it.
When Britney came out the media didn’t try and ditch Madonna. They gave her credit and made Britney bow down to her. On the flip side the media tried to take Janet down by constantly comparing Beyonce to her even though Janet was suffering a backlash. We didn’t care as a people and just went along with the bashing. It’s as if two Black women aren’t allowed to be hot at the same time. Beyonce said it best when she said that every time she works with a Black women the media tries to pit them against each other but when she worked with Shakira not a negative word was uttered. We really have to be careful that in our own insecurity, hatred and jealousy we don’t end up destroying ourselves and those of us who have worked hard to make something of themselves. We should be applauding the Beyonce’s of the world, not trying to take them down over petty jealousies.

Glad to see this site saying something positive about one of the hardest women in show business
The public seems to have a love hate relationship with Beyonce and her image. But her success and the overwhelming amount of comments and articles posted over the internet and in magazines concerning her personal life and career are indicative of how obsessed we are with this young woman.
Beyonce has one thing these other singers don’t have and that is a STRONG FAMILY UNIT! She doesn’t need our pity or acceptance. She’ll be just fine. Mommy and daddy Knowles will make sure of that

Beyonce doesn’t threaten anyone. People are used to new faces coming out and doing good and getting their shine. I mean damn how much can you see a person and hear their voice before you get tired of the same crap. The same blogs saying and showing the same olllleeee stuuufff! And she’s not the only one her name is just all over the place. I’m tired of certain radio stations in Philly. I rely on old school musio and gospel to get me through the day. B/c R&B now and days in non-existant. That’s not hating that’s a fact. This is really, really sad ya’ll. I need to take a break from these blogs and I think I’ll start tonigh, peace!

BrownSista is about the only site I visit that speaks with common sense. Should Microsoft step aside and let another software company take their spot? Should Verizon take some time off and give AT&T time to shine? Hell to the no. So why are people asking Beyonce to step aside and take some time off? Truth is the haters want her to go away in the hopes that time out of the spotlight will make people forget about her like they did Toni Braxton, Brandy, Monica and a host of other artists. Time off does nothing but appease those who want you to fail. Bey better get that money and do what she feels is best for her and her career and just leave the haters in haterville where they belong.
Big up to Stephanie for the great articles and keep supporting Black women cause no one else seems willing to do so.

SHE IS A POP DIVA AND POP DIVAS ARE EASILY REPLACED, JUST ASK GWEN STEFANI WHO WAS REPLACED BY FERGIE. i think beyonce needs to take advantage of this! she is not always gonna be relevant! and the way the business is now days your hot one minute and the next your a has been! i think the “tabloid press” and the internet plays a big role in why people may be gettin tired of her….everytime u go online you see pics of beyonceand or jay-z and that leaves little room for the “mystery factor” for an artist….times have changed and they way they cover celebs have changed….but i for one dont blame beyonce for gettin it while the gettin is good!

I don’t know. I love Michael Jackson and after a while people were saying the same thing about him. I do like some of her music and I truly don’t remember how people treated Madonna or Mariah. I don’t wish any bad on her, but I am part of the people who’d like a little break from her. I don’t think that makes you a hater. I think it makes you a person with an opinion. I’m not a fan but I wouldn’t consider myself a hater either :|

I would like to see her take a break and grow musically!!!! She may be talented, beautiful and hard working, but her music grows stale quickly because it lacks substance. I am also from another music era (late 80’s early 90’s rnb music to be exact)so my opinon of good music differs from todays young world.
She has potential, but I still don’t think she has done that “incredible” album yet and with a little more life experience and time (maybe even a public break up) she’ll grow into true womanhood.

I can remember the “Go Away J-Lo” campaign. The X-tina “Sit Your *** Down” movement.
I think that Beyonce is a great singer and performer (on stage, not acting) but I think she has TOTALLY been in the spot light since DIL - she did those movies, DC reunited, B’Day, Dreamgirls, B’Day Anthology - it is good to make your money while you can but “Overexposure” is something that happens to a lot of artist. :koolaid: :koolaid:

I agree with Liyah, and a few others. I am a fan of Bee, loved “B-Day”, and I even loved Dreamgirls ( despite her lukewarm acting). I think Beyonce is talented and I certainly appreciate how she has the music biz on lock! But overexposure can be a motha! If you’re out there constantly, you cease to be exciting and I totally agree with the “mystery” argument. She’s been successful for quite some time now, so she knows the ins and outs of longevity, and I don’t think it would end her career for her to take just a year off.
On another note: Constructive criticism is NOT a bad thing, and while we should take opportunities to lift sistas up when credit is due, let’s not shy away from offering opinions and dissenting without being accused of hating on other black women…

I grew up during the Madonna, Janet, Whitney and Mariah era. I don’t remember them ever being as overrated, over hyped or saturating the market. These women were original artist with their own unique style.
Beyonce is a hard working sister (loved her first solo project) but at the same time she is just overrated. Marketing and image is the reason why she is so appealing. She is a pop diva who has saturated the market with her videos, the radio air waves and magazines. Popularity will not make her a legend, icon or have a lasting impact on the music business if she doesn’t evolve as an artist. She is just overexposed.
She stated that she wants to be as big as Michael Jackson and be the Worlds greatest entertainer; that will never happen. She is not even on his level. Michael Jackson was a musical genius who’s songwriting and producing skills were just outstanding. He took music videos to a new level. There will probably never be another artist like Michael in this lifetime.
When I look at Beyonce, Rihanna, Cassie and those other new female artist on the scene, it just seems like there popularity is based on their physical appearance. They are just products. I am not hating, I am just stating an opinion.

Okay…we all know that Beyonce is the baddest chick in the game. People aren’t saying anything about her talent (except her acting lol my opinion), but what people are saying is that her a$$ is OVERLY OVEREXPOSED!!! Since “Crazy In Love” came out in 2004, she hasn’t left. Even artist like Madonna and Mariah Carey, who you mentioned, left for atleast a year or so and then came back. For the last 4 years, the public has been fed BEYONCE. And people are just growing tired of her. The public wants something new, fresh, and different. That’s like if you were given cheerios to eat EVERYDAY for 4 years. When you wake up until you go to sleep you are given cheerios. After a while you are gonna get sick and tired of eating and seeing damn cheerios. You’re gonna wants some variety in your life. And b/c the record label is pushing this gurl so much in our face and she is dominationg there airwaves and tv, people are sick of seeing her.
That’s one thing I loved about my girl Aaliyah, RIP. She knew how to give her fans what the wanted and she disappeared. She made us want her to come back. She kept us craving for more when she left. With Beyonce, she isn’t giving us anything to crave. And part of it isn’t it fault. Its her manager and record label. But I’ve noticed that is happening to alot of artists now. Like Rhianna put out 3 albums in the last 3 or 4 years too. But she hasn’t been as overexposed either.
As far as Mariah Carey and Madonna putting out albums every year, that’s a different story. With Madonna, she was doing something that women in the industry hadn’t done before. She was telling the world that women can be just as sexy and powerful as man and still get the same respect. People were intrigued b/c they didn’t know what she was going to do next (change her hair color, kiss a female, something outrages, flash people, etc.). With Mariah Carey, no one had heard a voice like that since Whitney. Plus when we realized she was bi-racial, people were all over her.
So those women were bringing something NEW to the game.
Like I said before, we all know she is BAD, but go away and let us want you again is all I’m and everyone else in the world is saying.

Exactly, Miss B. These artist took time off to grow, evolve and give their fans something new and refreshing. When they took two or three years, we looked forward to hearing their material. We were excited.
Beyonce seems almost insecure and afraid to take time off. It is like she is desperate to be in the spot light and to be the one that everybody is talking about. I don’t think it is all her fault either. Her father is a very aggressive manager. Not to mention she is a product and powerhouse marketing tool, so the record company uses her to make them tons of money. She just needs to take a few months off before she burns herself out and has a melt down.

I think you are racializing this issue unnecessarily. There HAVE been times when the (white) media got sick of Britney and Mariah (most notably during the Glitter-era), just as there are some media outlets right now that have gotten sick of Paris Hilton. I know people may find that hard to believe because I write about her here but it is the truth. I have never purchased any music from her or Destiny’s Child. She is truly not my kind of artist and quite honestly I think her talent and beauty are a bit overrated.
Still, I run a blog that reports on sistas and I try to do that sans the negative comments. We have enough people tearing us down and I feel no need to jump on that bandwagon.
When I sit down to write up a piece I try to remain neutral and that is why people think I am a fan or hers even though I am not.

I like Beyonce just as well as I like Mary J, Alicia, Mariah and Janet etc. Beyonce just should keep doing her and forget the others out there that want to see her fail. Truth of the matter is that most people must love her or she wouldn’t be where she’s at today. Mary J Blige is the second one on top of her game and she’s been in it since 92. Yet I here no qualms being made about that. Which I glad anyway because I think she has true talent. Rihanna is just came out so I can’t really speak on that.
The point is what in the hell are these people doing with their lives that they get sick and tired of someone that’s obivious doing something good for herself and sharing with others by making good music. These sound like people that’s sitting at home eagered to see someone else fall back because they themselves don’t have thier priorities straight.
Lovher said,
I don’t think that people want her to go away for ever but maybe for a year and come out fresh. It would almost be ok if the music was totally new and ground breaking but it’s normal pop music. And I think the bigger issue is why are the artist that these labels signing in no way able to compete with her. I don’t think that Beyonce is taking the light from anyone I think these artist and labels are bringing a knife to a gun fight. Why aren’t the black females that are coming out as talented as her because none of the ones out are as talented and they just fall by the waste side and Beyonce gets all the shine because even the people that have products want her to sale them. And the scraps go to the crap. Alicia Keys is the closest to being as dope as BEYONCE BUT HER KIND OF MUSIC YOU CAN’T JUST THORUGH OUT BECAUSE IT’S DEEPER THAN BEING POP IT’S SOUL MUSIC THAT CAN REACH A POPULAR AUDIENCE. NOT POP CORN. Rhianna sucks…we all know she is a studio singer and can’t perform live. Ciara is a knock of brand Janet and can’t sing live and doesn’t even try to sing on her album just cute little girl songs with no depth. Keesha Cole can’t dance and can barely sing live though she can sing just has terrible stage fright. Monica doesn’t like to work, she has the voice but can’t headline to save her life. Brandy doesn’t work at all and doesn’t like to perform live. WHO ELSE????? Mary J is dope but she is now considered in a class of her own and she never danced and had the whole glam thing anyway she was always ghetto star girl. No one compares. So stop buying these bull broads records and we can get them droped from these labels.

Beyonce is like a juicy well cooked steak or even a nice tastey jolly rancher. You love to eat and get excited to buy it but if you eat too much of that good tastey thing, no matter how much you love it, you throw up. What people are doing is throwing up Beyonce. It’s not that they are dissing her but they are throwing up her big tighs and lovely voice. Look at it like that and maybe you won’t feel as bad when people say they are tired of her. 2004 to 2007 is a long time to hear the same voice. ITs like being on an island with one other person. After a while you’ll try to kill them. She’s like Giligan and we are the Skipper.

No one wants her to go away forever just take a break and not because we don’t like her or we’re jealous haters trying to pull a sista down, but because she’s running out of steam and her music is getting sloppy and repetitive…Every one needs a break I don’t care how big of a star you are, there is a time to step out of the spot light…Janet takes a break and she’s just as good as ever, Gladyis Knight, Pattie Labelle are still going strong performing and selling out shows 40 years later…And IT”S NOT JUST BEYONCE that the media is bashing every star gets bashed and critized…If she’s truly the star that everyone claims she is what difference does it make if she steps out of the spot light for a few months.

Why dont some black people stand behind Beyonce?
I will tell you why, she’s repetitive. This article made a point of mentioning Madonna and believe me there is no comparison. When Madonna was out she was innovative she was different and creative EVERYTIME. The women is still reinventing herself (let’s not forget her english accent)and she puts out relevant music. Beyonce on the other hand while she is very talented does NOT put out good music. Good music is timeless you can turn it on when it’s new or when it has dust on it’s notes and it will still make you feel something. Beyonce’s songs dont make me feel anything, they dont make me think and they dont have me begging for more. If I go to a restaurant that only sales one dish trust me I wont be going back and I sure wont be asking for a franchise to get started. Face it, her team has built her career around how she looks she even wants you to look at her body and everyone is tired. It would be different if everytime she came out her music and dancing got elevated to another level, even if she changed it up a little and made you see how creative SHE is but she doesn’t. She repeats the same act and everyone is bored. I am so tired of people jumping on the “BLACK” banwagon, why dont black people stand behind other balck people, so are you saying that I should buy into hype and pop antics because she is black puuulease is right. Beyonce is equivalent to Brittney Spears (not Madonna) she is a machine that does what her company needs her to, there is no feeling in music nowadays and music really needs that back because it’s gone. People are always saying that Beyonce should not have to take a backseat because she’s hot, I agree but what is happening is that the industry is putting her on a pedistal and every new artist is being compared to her whether they have similar sounds or not and that is unfair. Maybe what we should ask is not that Beyonce go away but that the media stops gassing her up because this chick is full but I guess it’s too late now because everyone has been overloaded with her image.

Dont accuse the media because the people aka black white yellow red are beyond this all movement that wants beyonce to go away
Since we all asking questions and labelling people
yall know beyonce works hard but her skills are limited
I don’t know what is your definition of good music and honnestly i don’t think i wanna know but beyonce doesnt enter in mine
does that makes me a hater?
When you say people want to get rid of beyonce and evoque the madonna and mariah carey issue
i don’t quite get your point .So far when madonna was doing music she was doing music and when Mariah was doing music she was once again doing music
when destiny’s child were doing music they were doing music and all of them cited were producing at least a cd every year who was complaining?
We black people need to know how to call a cat,a cat
“Our sister” beyonce is doing a lot of stuff and thanks god she loves what she does
For her fans and other groupies life is so Pink there is beyonce everywhere and the sky is blue
for people that doesnt buy her routine its painfull and everytime someone tries to express how painfull it is for them to have to see hear or beign talk about beyonce
they are labelled straigh up haters and jealous or ugly dark skinned
No one can admit that someone can be pretty even gorgeous rich successfull and still dont like beyonce
The show business is not the only way to be successfull its only the easiest
That is so silly to label peopl and god when adults act like that it makes me so sad Us black people think that whatever a black person do we have to support
Beyonce lately has been sued for frauding des’ree song”still in love” but no one talks about it and when they do they do it really fast and skip the subject
how can we grow strong if we can’t even tell each other when we are wrong or pushy?
talking about britney and christina :first off miss christina is still a popular and successful women maybe less now that she has more clothes on but she still is a greater singer then beyonce whining voice
and for your information when people wants to say stuff about other people then beyonce they are most of the time(Not everytime) understood and every body keep moving on even if they disagree on the subject
But the ghetto way comes back in us when someone touches beyonce what is she a goddess? Does she pay any of yall bills
I apologize but some of the people that are not fan and “haters” are 90% of the time used to be fans so i will ask myself this question:
how can you love someone then want them to go away all of the sudden?Beyonce havent change she still the beautiful glamour girl that is half naked in her videos and blond wig wearing
What a hell changed because that much people was’nt on her before and personally i have one answer :i need to miss beyonce she is “too there” for me
i do not hate her and qu’importe i could care less what people label me
but god us black people will never grow strong by beign follower
ps:Beyonce cannot take a break
she is condammed to keep yelling on every song , show her panty, steal other people songs, and be gorgeous as long as possible isnt where her succes come from ?
Peace

Dam Dark Sister you said it all! I going to keep it 100% she’s not my cup of tea but just like any all things it comes to a end.Far as her being an “ICON NAhhh”
My issue with her is when you use other people ideas as you’re own as she goes on these awards show doing her performance’s she copy other artist performance’s which is nothing wrong with it, when you make it you’re own far putting a little twist to make it you’re signature. she doesn’t try to put her own spin to it,far as the music well we see she’s not writing that so i guess it must be the fashion because we all know it ain’t the voice
Let’s not bring up the BET awards Because as usual she stole that from Kyle Mongue the difference “B” had on pants ,Kyle wore a skirt same gold crap . Her Iconic thing will Be “MISS BOOTYLIOUS”.
P.S. Even though she’s not my cup of tea it is what it is.Those “STANS” is going to keep buying whatever she put out she’ll just have her own little cult so it don’t matter.

One can not be an icon without the support and well thought out comments and theories of the people who claim to love them or hate them or want them to just “go away.”
Beyonce Knowles is a musical icon of the 21st century and has indeed secured her place in American History

All these years later and this woman is still hated because of the Destiny’s Child debacle. People blamed her then for the removal of the other girls and they still blame her. On top of that Beyonce was the most vocal at the time of split throwing dirt on the kicked out members every chance she could. The public will never forget that and so until the very end of her career she will always be hated and villified just like Diana Ross was.

The mainstream media’s problem is really quite simple: Beyonce doesn’t find herself in trouble every other day. You’re not going to hear about her sleeping her way through Hollywood or sniffing crack in the back of a club. That’s what they want to hear - that she’s not perfect. ‘Cause you know people love to build you up to tear you down.
For the numerous black women that would love for her to sit down: It’s my opinion that they can’t stand the fact that a young, beautiful woman of the same color is so successful . . . and she won’t share any of her business (i.e. her relationship with Jay-Z, her sex life, etc.) By keeping it to herself, it doesn’t give them a chance to pick her apart any further. I visit so many blogs where they insult the girl’s hair, makeup, clothing, family, performances, you name it. I don’t blame her for trying to keep certain things sacred. She just wants to do what she loves.
I think Beyonce is fabulous and I very much admire her drive and focus. I’m not a super fan. I haven’t been to any of her concerts. I only own 2 of her CDs (Writings On The Wall & B’day). I don’t think she’s a great actress. But I refuse to deny that she is an exceptional talent. She knows how to make good music, has phenomenal stage presence, and she has a nice voice. She’s strong business woman preparing for her future. By the way, she’s gorgeous too.
Some people, mainstream media and otherwise, can’t all that plus the fact that she has maturity. Maybe she could stand to let people miss her for a bit - take a well-deserved break for all of her hard work. But it’s obvious she keeps going because she’s passionate about what she does. Maybe if people were more passionate in their own careers and actually enjoyed what they did for a living, they would understand.
I wish Beyonce all the best life has to offer. While she’s a young woman out there striving to reach her goals, others are out there getting drunk every night and wasting away their lives in rehab.
Girl u completed me i was coming on those copying other people stuff you wouldnt believe all the outfit routine, and entrance she copies from everyone even Britney spears but i guess we hush up on these because she is our sista rite? someone read my post and sent me this myspace page made up by actual fans i coulnt watch more there is the page : http://www.myspace.com/borponmyspace
Denial is our way to us human to protect ourselves and lock ourselves into our flaws if i had so many people telling me stuff over and over especially if the number of opponent grew up i’ll try to see what a hell makes them
As for her place in American history i’ll say we lost the respect of our history the day we started to praise people like diana ross that is nothing else then an old version of beyonce because beyonce will be like dianna but qu’importe the most important is to be famous rigth? No matter how low we go No matter how we loose or dignity as long as we famous :) its sad how we desperate to make history we’ll take anyone and push them up no matter what they do as long as they represent for black people
That whole beyonce issue will be a backlash one day

Beyonce is so pretty, and she sings so lovely. There was a time when seeing her any where was a breath of fresh air, but lately seeing her has become more like viewing a dark cloud. It has become more of a disappointment rather than a joyous occasion.
Due to seeing so much of her in the group D.C. and her jumping right into a solo career without taking a break in beteen, has become Beyonce over-load.
Brown Sista :brownsista:, don’t get me wrong, we want her to come back better, full of growth, and with a brand new style of music, stage presence, and message in her music. For now…we want her to just go away-just go away for now. Right now she’s like a relative you want to move far away from you, and see only on certain holidays. It’s been over ten years straight of Beyonce. We are sick with Beyonce diarreha, and we need to heal. She needs to go and grow.

If this website has for purpose celebrating black women accomplishments
it may as well be an honnest and valuable opinion
stephanie trough your post i just felt that you were trying to pick beyonce as
the poor pretty and rich girl that is pick on and disrespected just because she is black and rich and pretty
Are you honnest with your own self or are you just playing blind on this sista scandalous behavior?
If there is anything the media protect beyonce everytime something came out did you read it in a magazine? did you read when people where noticing how her skin change ?
Did you read in th magazine how many song she stole?
Did you see in a magazine how she copies performances and outfits from little artist such as britney spears?
Come on she is a fraud and now i understand why white people look at us so dumb we can’t admit that one of us is wrong and when some do they are labeled as hater
Call me whatever you want but beyonce is the whitest black girl ever she is holywood material and she doesnt represent me
Mary j blige, Janet jackson,Alicia keys,Shaka kan ,Patti labelle,Whitney houston are my real sisters they are the one proud to be black beyonce aint no sista of mine
whatever she is trying to represent its not buying with me
I actually loved Crazy in love this was beyonce’s best moment Some people have their head in the clouds some others know what the h are the priority in life :Real Succes, inner confidence,An happiness that’s probably the reason why black women are labeled gold digger too many people thinks that money can make a person happy
When i look at beyonce even when she smiles i cant stop myself to think that deep down inside she is not happy it doesnt matter how famous she is or how beautiful she is what should matters is the person herself and her music and to my opinion both went down the hill since crazy in love
Signed :The hater

I’m not wanting Bey to go away - I think she is an awfully talented person. I am wanting Bey to live her life full of total happiness. She’s facing not only overexposure, but exhaustion. I wish she would simply live her life and enjoy the things she’s accomplished. She’s come a long way and I wish that kind of success for everyone. But, I’m a great supporter of taking time off to “smell the roses” which I don’t think she’s doing. Sure she’s taking a vacation here and there, but I mean totally away from the fans and the cameras. I wish her continued success with whatever she does, but please Bey, take time out for yourself. Forget those who wish you bad upon you. Have a great time with the successes in your life and continue to make great music. She’s stepped up the game in the music industry and I don’t blame her one bit for getting her shine on.

I admit: Beyonce is a great entertainer and her father has made her a brand. I’m tired of hearing about her online–because that is the only time I hear about her!! The only issues I have with Beyonce is her propensity for taking credit for things she didn’t do and for complete and utter unoriginality. As someone else said, Beyonce is the black Britney Spears. Yeah Bey has a better voice, but they bring similar things to the table: vapid and disposable pop songs masked by awesome and breathtaking live performances and music videos.
That is what is wrong with Beyonce: the “bar” she set is actually LOW. All these female r&b singers are compared to her because what she’s done is made people used to hearing vapid songs with good hooks and beats paired with a booty-shaking, hip-gyrating, scantily-clad music video. So female artists are encouraged to copy this (Christina Milian, Ashanti, etc) and end up coming across as Beyonce wannabes, and when they don’t copy this, they receive minimal exposure. It’s catering to the lowest common denominator, plain and simple. I’m sure Bey didn’t plan on this happening, but it did and I don’t know if it can be repaired.

I have viewed all of these comments about Beyonce and find it very upsurd that just becasue a young woman seems to be in your face that she should take a break. How utterly boldfaced a lot of you are! Firstly she IS talented– far more talented than the likes of Ciara, CAssie and Rihanna and anyone else that falls into the ctegory of the latter persons. She is the most widely sort after woman and many women can’t deal with the success of another woman. I do not believe that her songs are just for the club that is utter garbage. As Beyonce has gotten older, she is maturing and so is her music– especially lyrically, and with a degree in Literatures in English, I know what I am talking about! There is no reason why anyone should despise this young lady… she is talented, deports herself well, has a strong family and is well-mannered, and can think for herself. If she is in your face, you have to then blame the media: you tube, msn and yahoo and all those toher gossip blogs who find her so interesting that they MUST talk about her. The fact is birds go for the best fruit on the tree and Beyonce is that juicy healthy fruit that some of you birds out there want to pick on, becasue of your petty jelosies and whatever other foolishness. As Dianna Ross said she worked hard (all her life) to get where she is, and she isn’t going anywhere. Where do some of you get off saying that this young woman should take a break–utter rubbish… I am appalled. The girl is doing nothing wrong. If you don’t like her, switch the channels. Rihanna is only out a little while and already I am tired of her. She just keeps delivering poor performance all the time. If it’s anyone who needs to take abreak for some introspection it’s that girl Rihanna.

Who ever got anywhere without trying hard? Some people are so ridiculous on this blog… and to say that Bey is a black Britney Spears– my goodnes how foolish. Bey is so much of a star quality artiste. A lot of you are just reading/feeding off of some jealous person’s comment or some gossip magazine or website, instead of thinking for yourselves. All of a sudden people hate Bey– and if many of you see her in real you’ll want to fight just to get her autograph– lol… Or boast that you saw her… lol some of you here are really a piece of work. This lady has worked hard to get where she is… and besides, most of the artiste out there try to give the fans what seems to be selling out there– that’s the nature of the industry. She didn’t get where she is through a fluke or luck… she earned her poplularity and is doing a good job at it. She wouldn’t always dominate the charts, but such is the nature of the industry, but to say that she should take a break becasue of a measeley few people whose only voice comes from jumping on the band wagon… that’s just plain stupid. Bey will never hit rock bottom like Britney, Lindsay, Whitney or whoever else, because she knows who she is; for a young woman she possess a wealth of wisdom and she knows better than to listen to the screechinng of fools. She will always be loved by a great many for her poise, talent and grace– and may I remind everyone that all artistes are influenced by somebody and the next time, before persons make comments about people taking credit for other people’s work, check out the other side ofthe story. You people out there who dislike Bey are so quick to find something to throw at her because you all know the girl is great. Life is too short… move on and accept that whether you all like it or not, Bey will always be great until God decides it’s time for her to put down the mike. Move on people. Move on!

I agree some people are so ridiculous on this website
They won’t get away from that black sister support system
and be objective and of course the firts thing that come out their mouth is the word”jealousy”
That’s the way for people to protect themselves against criticizism
Little old larissa being on vh1 disrespecting everyone then call them jealous when someone speak up against her behavior
is that the new black tool? to defend against people’s remarks? call them jealous
Of course bey does’nt care what people say that’s what scary i dont care what people say neither but a smart person should recognize a hater from a criticizer and if you don’t then you going to the grave
i used to like beyonce yall remenber that before calling people all sort of name and i’m not the only one a real artist would have try to understand why people that used to support him now turn their back on him
But i can’t xpect that from a talentless pop star
She gon figth with more excuses then paris hilton herself and blame everybody else but her damn self for all this movement of rage against her
“maybe because i’m ligth skin” “maybe because i’m so pretty” “maybe because im so sexy ” like matthew knowles said “my daugther is sexy sex sells” we can only sit back and watch that sex be selling not me because i’m not a lesbian
so the future will tell us even tought its clear to see
Britney and the other missed behave and got themself in trouble just because byonce’s sh… is not all over the media doesnt mean she is white as snow because we all know about her being fraud do yall talk about it? tchipp black people ….
Those called beyonce’s hater will take her down as people try to reduce their voices
This is not a black vs white battle this is the people all age all race Aka Haters versus beyonce and her stans
