Photograpger D. Blanks shared with his Twitter peeps (tweeps) one of the images he recently took of singer Michelle Williams. Michelle has been pretty quiet over the last few months so maybe these new photoss are a sign that she has a new project to promote. Last we heard from the singer she was letting her fans know she was safe after an early morning fender bender with a Chicago city bus.

“Wait Your Turn,” the reported second single from Rihanna’s upcoming “Rated R” album, has finally leaked. Thought to be originally be titled “The Wait Is Ova,” the song was produced by Mikkel Storleer Eriksen and Stargate (Rihanna Daily). Word is the new single will be sent to radio before the album comes out on November 24th.

In between prepping her third solo album and starring as 50 Cent’s love interest in his “Baby By Me” video, singer Kelly Rowland found time to hit up the beaches of Miani for some fun in the sun. According to Rap-Up.com, Kelly’s forthcoming album will be produced mostly by Rico Love, who is responsible for Beyonce’s “Beautiful Nightmare,” as well as Mario’s “Thinkin’ About You.” Kelly’s latest album isn’t yet finished but word is she is looking to be finished in time for a January 2010 release and under the EMI Music label, which presently houses French DJ David Guetta, whom Kelly worked with on the smash single “When Love Takes Over.”

Recently Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin’s daughter had her 14th birthday. Her cake was a recreation of none other than Weezy F. Baby’s face. Besides it being an an ugly cake, I thought to myself, Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin allows their daughter to listen to Weezy? Their Good ole American Pie, White princess? Then I had to remind myself that not only do White teenagers make up the majority of rap album sales but also that Weezy is every “Becky” around the world’s dream man. You disagree?
1. He Is Street Without Ever Having Killed Anyone
Sure Weezy raps about killing people but like most rappers there is no evidence that he actually has. Basically he is rapping about the things that he believes his young audience wants to hear. The things that create the illusion that he is tough. So he presents a certain level of danger without REALLY presenting danger. Get it?
2. He Is Artistic.
You can say what you want about him but Weezy is an artistic and smart individual, whether you enjoy his work or not. The man can rap, play guitar, produce music, etc. Women of all races have been going gaga groupie for artists from every genre from Rock to Rap for years. An artistic man is sexy. “Aww he is so deep and creative” they purr. I can recall a certain vixen stating that when Weezy first wakes up he would not talk to her for hours because he was getting in his “zone”. Sure she did not like it but she put up with it. Boy stop!
3.He Has Crossover Appeal.
The man can go from one genre to another effortlessly. If you turn the radio on you will hear Weezy on Pop stations being featured on a 16 year old pop princess’s song to being on the hardest drug dealer’s anthem on an Urban station. It was only a matter of time before the crossover appeal would cause the rainbow of groupies to flourish.
4. He Has A Bad Boy Image. (Refer to #1)
From the syrup drinking, to the marijuana and gun charges to the recent prison sentence. Weezy gives just enough street to satisfy the thirst for danger without fearing for your life while being in his company.
5. He Has His Own Individual style.
The man’s signature uniform is a white tee, bandanna, constant shades and a styrofoam cup. When you see someone emulating these attributes you know that they are giving their best Weezy impression. They have become a part of what the kids call his “swag”. He is confident in these attributes. No one can tell him that drinking syrup all day is not what’s happening. If you did, he wouldn’t care.
6. He is rich
Duh! Money makes the world go round. What is better than a rich Black rapper to trick off on you! Do I really need to explain more?
7. He Seems Sexually Exciting
Lil Wayne is not afraid to let everyone know that he is sexually extroverted. His P**ssy Monster song was a clear example of that. He also has sexed up some attractive women. Do you know how many guys prayed to the heavens that they would be given the opportunity to impregnate Lauren London? Weezy was the lucky bastard that got the job done and quick! Now she has a rock star for a baby daddy. What more can she ask?
8. Being Black Is Cool, So Dating A Cool Black Guy Is Even Cooler.
Being Black has always been cool especially if you are not Black. If you cannot be Black then the next best thing is to date a Black guy. Not just any Black guy, a cool one. Dating one of the coolest Black guys in Rap entertainment gives you cool points and makes you almost as cool for him “choosing” you. Smile for Weezy.

I grew up watching 106 and Park. In fact I am in the generation when Free and AJ were the hosts and it was actually cool. It was a part of every teenagers daily regimen around the country. Unfortunately, time went on, I grew up and so did Free and AJ, so BET thought they needed some younger hipper hosts for the next set of high schoolers. In comes Rocsi and Terrance J. Now, Terrance is harmless, he is a cutie and kind of lame. However, from day one, individuals, many of them women were not feeling Rocsi. Many of the reasons I heard were she is not really Black she is Latino why is she hosting a BET show, she is funny looking, too skinny, I don’t like her voice and so on. Here we are years later and Rocsi is still disliked by many. However, now, everyone has access to blogs where they can properly express their dislike.
I never had a negative opinion about Rocsi. She seemed like a cool person and I ignored the rumors of her sleeping her way to her position because she seemed like a hard worker. She also hosted a daytime radio show in Chicago while simultaneously hosting 106th and Park in New York. That sounds like a gruesome work schedule. I respect that. Then the drama hit. Rumors started to spread about Rocsi not only being a hoe but also being a hoe that likes to sleep with married men. More specifically, Lisa Raye’s husband T&C Premier Michael Misick. Raye went on from show to show and she would discuss the affair with some respect to her ex and Rocsi but Rocsi never denied or confirmed it. Even when pictures emerged of her with Raye’s husband still no response from Rocsi. So, when I saw her interview posted on Honeymagazine I just knew that she would finally clear her name and dispel all of the negativity that has been coming her way. On the contrary, Rocsi chose to not speak about it.

Really? So this is your opportunity to clear your name and stop some of the shade that is thrown your way from women and men alike and you do not want to talk about it? This is your opportunity to let people know you are not a home wrecker and indeed one of the hardest working chicks out there and not because you lay on your back. You do not want to talk about it. Which brings me to the this conclusion: Bitch you did it. Sure she has her right to her privacy but screw all of that! I know if I was in her position and my good name was being thrown around on blogs and by an accuser like cow shit I would be one of the first ones to nip it in the bud. I would shout it from the mountains above “I did not sleep with that lady’s husband!”. Instead she chooses not to discuss it and refer to it simply as the “Lisa Raye” situation. If the rumors are not true, I cannot understand how you or anyone guiding you would feel that ignoring the situation helps to plead your case. Especially when Lisa Raye is on radio shows discussing it regularly and there are pictures of you and the man circulating the internet.
Damn Rocsi. I go to so many of these blogs and see the comments and women are trashing you. I held out hope for you that this was all some rumor created by haters to cause more confusion in your life and career. However now, it is becoming more clear to me that perhaps this was never a rumor and Lisa Raye has reason to feel slighted by you. You broke up a home. That is just not the business. Perhaps the reason why you do not want to talk about it is because you feel ashamed of your own behavior and decisions. Am I judging? Perhaps. One thing is for certain. I am so damn disappointed with her.
