Ciara took time off from recording her new album to perform with Justin Timberlake at his benefit concert for Shriner’s Children Hospital. The pair performed their hit single “Love, Sex, Magic” for a sold out crowd at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino.

Raven Simone, Anika Noni Rose and Mary J. Blige just were just a few of the Brown Sista celebs who came out to help songwriter/producer Ne-Yo celebrate his 30th birthday. The birthday boy recently released “Never Knew I Needed” a song which will be featured on the soundtrack to Walt Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog” movie, which stars Anika Noni Rose (Click here to take a listen). Ne-Yo has also finished up work on Rihanna’s new album which is due to be released November 23rd. Word is one of his tracks may be the second single released from her album.

Lets all Celebrate–The GAME IS coming BACK!
This weekend Beverly Bond founder of Black Girls Rock hosted the fourth annual Black Girls Rock Awards in NYC. Fab brownsistas such as Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, Tracee Ellis Ross and Naomi Campbell came out to celebrate. This award show recognizes and celebrates the achievements of African- American women in fashion, media, business, and arts and entertainment. Actress Raven Symone was awarded the “Young, Gifted, and Black” award. Mary J. Blige was honored with the “Icon” award. While supermodel Naomi Campbell received the “Fashionista” award. Congratulations to all the brownsistas.
Despite all the negative publicity Alicia Keys has been recieving from the media, she and some of your favorite brownsistas came out to support a beneficial cause, I thought was definitely worth mentioning. “Keep a Child Alive” Annual Black Ball was hosted by Alicia Keys and Padma Lakshmi, on October 15, 2009.At the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. This event benefits children and families with HIV and Aids in Africa and India.
Kelly Rowland and French DJ David Guetta performed their hit single “When Love Takes Over” Thursday night at the 2009 Los Premios MTV Awards. Miss Kelly poured all 5 foot 7 inches of her svelte frame into a Pam Hogg liquid metal jumpsuit and totally stole the show. Still not a certified U.S. superstar, Kelly is doing amazingly well overseas and is reportedly focusing on the European market with her next album.
Rihanna was spotted in New York City on Friday afternoon shooting her new video. The title of her new single is still unknown. However, her release date is still set for November 23rd. There were rumors of Def Jam delaying the album, as November 23rd will also see new releases from Lady Gaga (The Fame Monster), 50 Cent (Before I Self Destruct), Timbaland (Shock Value 2), and quite a few others. In other words… Rihanna has some stiff competition for the #1 spot on that week’s album chart.
FYI: Amazon.com says Rihanna’s new album will be a double disc set.
