Rihanna has officially become a miniature version of Beyonce Knowles. We all know Bey is known for doing as many 3 and four shows a day and now Rihanna is fast on her way to keeping that same break neck pace. Earlier this week the sista hosted an episode of MTV’s TRL and was invited back again today to co-host an episode with fellow diva in training Ciara. Word is her hosting duties may actually be extended to the end of this week.

The Costume Institute Gala held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art last night brought out all the pretty people decked out in their Sunday best. Naomi Campbell, Alicia Keys and Rihanna were just a few of the sistas who showed up for the event and they represented Black Beauty magnificently.

Singer Janet Jackson has been pretty quiet for most of 2007 but a recently posted message on her official website has many thinking that the singer’s imposed seclusion after the failure of her 20 Y.O album might be over. Janet speaks of her new movie with Tyler Perry, an invite only mini concert at the Atlantis – Phase III opening on May 11th., as well as special performances in London and Cannes. Her boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri, also posted on his My Space page that Janet would have a single on the Rush Hour 3 soundtrack that he is producing.

Singer Rihanna scored her highest career debut at Rhythm Radio last week when Umbrella entered the R&R (Radio & Records) BDS Rhythmic chart at #31-bullet (the #2 Most Increased audience of the week, +1.2 million to a total of 4.9 million!). Last week marked the song’s official impact at radio. Umbrella is the #1 most added at the Pop and Rhythm format, with over 110 pop stations on impact and over 50 Rhythm adds.

Actress Kim Fields gave birth to a 6 pound, 4 ounce baby boy that she and her fiance’, Christopher Morgan, named Sebastian Alexander Morgan. The baby was born Friday evening without complications and Kim had an exceptional delivery that lasted for all of two hours. This is the first child for both Kim and Christopher who have been engaged for several years and plan to wed this September.
Sistas came out in full force last night to celebrate the grand opening of Escada’s flagship boutique in Beverly Hills. Below we have Gabrielle Union looking as stunning as ever.

Actress Meagan Good is gracing this month’s cover of Jewel magazine and touches on many subjects, including the lack of quality films in which she has been in. Meagan swears she wants to move beyond the Girlfriend role, but laments that opportunities for Black women are few and far between in Hollywood. Word is she also talks a bit more about the kissing incident with Jamie Foxx that ended her three year relationship with the oh-so-fine-lookin’-like-Lyfe Jennings, Jerry Manuel. Andrea Kelly saunters into the room with her stiletto boots clicking, her shoulder-length curls bouncing; she’s sparkling like the crystal hoops dangling from her ears. Despite her famous last name, few in the room know who she is. She’s used to that. Andrea has been ignored before, like in those posh stores near Chicago’s Gold Coast or in Los Angeles, where burly bouncers blocked her from crossing the velvet ropes—that is, until the gatekeeper found out who she was. Then it was “Oops.†Disbelief turned to immediate accommodation. And then came the apologies, “Sorry, Mrs. Kelly.†But mostly it’s, “I didn’t know he had a wife.”

You all remember Teairra Mari don’t you? She was the 17 year old sista Jay-Z signed to Def Jam just about the same time as Rihanna. Well we all know what became of Rihanna. But poor Teairra was dropped from Def Jam after releasing her first album and no one has seen or heard from the sista since- until now that is. Teairra, now 20, left a message on her MySpace Page letting fans know that new music from her would be forthcoming. The sista says her new CD should be available sometime in July with the first single hitting the airwaves in early May. The album boasts production from Polow da Don and Scott Storch with rumored guest appearances by Trina and Missy Elliott.
