Toni Braxton Lifetime BiopicAre you guys ready for a Toni Braxton Lifetime biopic? Well ready or not the network is already planning to bring the Grammy-award winning singer’s life story to the small screen.

According to published reports, Unbreak My Heart: The Toni Braxton Story, is already in the works and has found a director in actor Vondie Curtis Hall. Both Toni and Vondie have worked with Lifetime in the past. Hall directed the network’s 2012 film Abducted: The Carlina White Story, while Toni starred in their 2013 film Twist of Faith.

Toni Braxton to Be Honored by the NAACP


Singer Toni Braxton will be honored with the prestigious Spirit Award by the Beverly Hills/Hollywood chapter of the NAACP for her work in the theatre.

Tony’s longtime collaborator and “After Midnight” co-star Babyface will present the R&B diva with the award at this year’s 24th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards, set to go down Monday, November 17 at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.

Singer Toni Braxton is teaming up with Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network to bring us the life story of 60’s soul singer Darlene Love.

“My Name is Love: The Darlene Love Story,” will be the network’s first scripted TV film and is expected to debut in the fall.

For those of you not in the know, Darlene Love was signed by music guru Phil Spector right after high school and went on to record the 1962 hit single “He’s a Rebel.”

Toni Braxton Talks Depression in New Interview


Though she says she wasn’t suicidal, in the new issue of Uptown magazine, singer Toni Braxton does admit to being depressed about the state of her career and “in a very bad place” in general.

“I was in a small place in my life,” says Toni. “I was tired of fighting and was feeling very sorry for myself. I was depressed over where my career was going and I was also down about my health.”

According to Toni, she developed blood clots earlier this year as a result of her lupus, and found herself once again hospitalized and having to put her career on hold.

Toni Braxton Vying for “Orange is the New Black” Role


With her musical career officially back on track, singer Toni Braxton is now looking to start dabbling in acting a bit more.

Earlier this year, after appearing in the Lifetime movie “Twist of Faith,” Toni said she specifically wanted her next role to be that of a lesbian.

It appears she may be one step closer to that goal, telling the Grio in a recent interview that she was actively vying for a role on Netflix’s freshman comedy “Orange is the New Black.”

Toni had talked about her adoration of the show quite a bit, telling Billboard it was the only TV she watched besides the news and her own reality show “Braxton Family Values.”
