Here is the latest video offering from Rihanna’s upcoming “Rated R” album. “Russian Roulette” is the first single off of the singer’s album and a bonafide hit. The single skyrocketed into the #9 position on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart and made the singer the second most successful singles artist this decade.

Solange Has Found Her Groove

posted by Sista on November 13, 2009

Who knew Solange had this type of soul in her? I sure didn’t. The singer, who recently parted from her record label, has been quiet for a while- but now she is back with a sound that in my opinion suits her a lot more than those Amy Whinehouse 1960 knock-offs she recorded on her last album. Solange has gone all sexy on us and recorded “Stillness Is The Move”- a tune originally recorded by Indie Rock band Dirty Projectors. You’ll also hear a sample of Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady” in the background, which really gives the song it’s pop.

Check out Solange’s version above and click “Dirty Projectors” up top to listen to their version. Honestly, you will wonder how Solange turned such a simple sounding song into this soulful R n’ B masterpiece.

Beyonce & Lady Gaga Drop Their Phones

posted by Sista on November 12, 2009

Beyonce and Lady Gaga’s long awaited tracks featuring each other have now debuted online. You can check out “Video Phone” by Beyonce and featuring Lady Gaga below….

You can also check out “Telephone” by Lady Gaga and featuring Beyonce…

I love Beyonce’s Video Phone. Gaga sounds better on Beyonce’s joint than Beyonce sounds on hers. Video Phone is the better hotter song. They sound good together and this could be a huge hit for them both- especially if the video is hot.

Melanie Fiona Kills It On 106 & Park

posted by Sista on November 12, 2009

Melanie Fiona so reminds me of the female R n’ B singers who came to prominense in the early 90s- especially Deborah Cox. Melanie makes the kind of soul music that makes you wanna slap your man for doing wrong and then make love to him afterwards. This girl is so good and yet so bad. She can sing her behind off. Give her a mic and she will blow the roof off the place. Here Melanie is below killin’ it on 106 & Park with her hit single “It Kills Me.”

Rihanna’s New Promo Cover

posted by Ari on November 11, 2009

A few weeks ago I recieved an email from a friend saying Rhianna is currently developing a new fragrance (not yet titled) that is set to debut in July 2010, and she wanted to know if I would be interested in reviewing it so young girls and adults would have knowledge of it before it officially debuts, I said sure. As I was browsing on Rhiannadaily.com today I noticed her promo pick for her new single Hard ft. Young Jeezy, that made me think twice about my decision. I know some of you probably are tired of hearing about Rhianna, but I couldn’t let this one slide. I still don’t think after all the media chaos she fully understands the influence and impact she has on young girls lives. It looks more like a playboy promo to me rather than a single cover.

Opinions?

Here is the latest video from Letoya Luckett’s “Lady Love” album. With little promotion from the singer’s record label, but much love from radio and the fans, this song has been able to skyrocket all the way into the top 10 on R n’ B radio.
