The 2008 Urban BMI Awards were handed out last night and Toccara Jones, Melanie Brown and Elise Neal, were just a few of the Brown Sistas on hand to show their support for the world of R n’ B music. Singer Keri Hilson performed for the crowd but it was Beyonce who walked away with the big award of the evening, winning Song of the Year honors for her hit single, Irreplaceable.
Other big winners of the night included T-Pain, Kanye West and singer Ne-Yo.

Update: Singer Janet Jackson was also on hand and presented her brothers with the Lifetime Achievement BMI Icon Award.

Yes it is Nia. Irreplaceable has four songwriters taking credit for it, including Beyonce.

Melanie Brown is beautiful, but I think her face looks old in some pictures. Maybe it’s just the lighting. Haven’t seen Elise Neal in a bit.
I have seen the full pix of toccara and she lost WAY MORE weight.

Congrats to The Jacksons. They`ll always be #1 in my book. How fitting that I`m listening to their “Destiny” album as I`m typing this post. An award that`s well deserved. Also kudos to Barry Gordy for giving them their start. I must also say that Janet is looking so beautiful and mellow. Luv, luv The Jacksons!!!!
