The premiere of Precious was held in Hollywood, California. Brownsistas such as Monique, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Sherri Sheperd, Star Jones, and Mary J. Blige, and Paula Patton( who is preggers and glowing). were in attendance. I can’t wait to see this film.

  1. monique lookin good as hell nowadays always been pretty in da face n thick n da waist lol but na she lookin healthy now.

  2. Wow that sista in the red dress is probably super talented, but I bet her size and complexion limits her roles. And I’m happy for Monique, I can’t wait to check this movie out, it looks like a good movie, we haven’t had anything good and original in a while. Monique can act too, even though Phat Girlz was a hot mess, Monique really showed her acting chops.

  3. I can’t wait to see this movie…
    Has anyone read the book?
It is extremely raw, & very unattractive in some ways, but I couldn’t put it down.

  4. Wow Garcelle looks great !! A Paula is so gorgeous.
Gabby has lost some weight since the film and shes doing it for her health. Big up Malians !!
I read the book in HS, when I was 15. Its very graphic, but real life.

  5. I’m so glad Monique came to the opening!!! It’s looking real good for her to walk away with the best supporting actress oscar…she’s a very good actress…loved her in anything she’s play…Domino, Good Fences, Parkers…

    Go Monique!!!

  6. Also whats great about monique is that she said she’d rather win a naacp award rather than a oscar. It’s very diff. (hell I’d personally love to win either.)

  7. I can’t wait to see Precious. I have the feeling Monique was exceptional in this role (from the previews). All of the ladies look wonderful and I pray WE support this movie at the theaters.

  8. I can’t wait to see the movie. It is a hard sell but I KNOW it is a good movie. Everyone involved should win an award for taking a risk!!

  9. Unforunately, they will probably have it in theatres for 2 weeks but im so there -SAturday. i know the monique killed- The book was excruciating 2 read bcuz of the poor language, which was on purpose to get into the character’s mind. Not bad excruciating, i mean just kinda hard 2 get used to but book was compelling, mesmerizing-like how the movie looks. ANd i know Mo killed it.

  10. I am undecided in whether or not to see this movie. It seems so depressing. The storyline is pretty deep though.

  11. @RUSERIOUS, I know what you mean about the language. At times it was a bit much, with the whole dyslexic language in the book (esp. in the middle of the story) but like you said, it’s such a compelling story

  12. READ THE BOOK FIRST…
I’m sure the film will be awesome, but you can never know the whole tale unless you read the novel first. – I learned this when I saw the adaptation of White Oleander to the screen… so much was left out.
