Rihanna’s Cunt Controversy

posted by Sista on September 4th, 2011 at 4:12 am

Rihanna just can’t seem to catch a break. It appears that for the second time in less than a week the singer is being criticized for her fashion choices.

First it was the folks from PETA who called the singer out for the feathery Antonio Berardi blouse she wore a few weeks back while promoting her Reb’l Fleur fragrance in London.

Now it seems women and children’s groups are angry at the singer for being spotted wearing a necklace that says CUNT.

THE 23 year old Grammy winner was spotted earlier this week wearing the supposedly offensive jewelry while leaving the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.

At times I can understand why some people may be offended by what Rihanna, says, does or wears, however, this time I am at a loss.

Who even says CUNT anymore? Did anyone ever say cunt? In all my thirty-some years I have never heard anyone say cunt in person.

Like many controversies surrounding Rihanna I am sure this one will quickly blow over. As a matter of fact, I suspect within the next few weeks we may see fashion boutiques all over the country coming out with their own line of cunt necklaces, with earrings to match (lol).

  1. Who cares. She is a grown woman.

  2. I LOVE THE WORD ****.

  3. Lol. When are people going to understand that Rihanna isn’t trying to be a role model. And why are parents even letting their kids listen to her often raunchy music and letting them go see her raunchy stage shows. Smh.

  4. Umm, yes, people still use that word. Now grown mature women don’t use that word, but then again I don’t see her as grown woman. She lives to court controversy, she likes to be “edgy” and a bad ***, etc. Unfortunately, she’s basically still living like a teenager with the power of grown woman. One day she’ll learn, but apparently no time soon.

  5. In Rihanna’s defense, you can’t really see what it says till you zoom in, and even when you zoom in, it’s kinda hard to read the gold against her skin.

On another note, I really thought that Big Bird-esque top (that PETA is criticizing) was hideous and I’m sad that some poor ostrich was deprived of its feathers to make it ! The top looks like someone skinned Big Bird, dyed him teal and made him a bath rug. And then Riri decided to wear the poor thing!

Still love me some Rihanna though :)

  6. A lot of people still use that word. They even use it one the Jersey Shore. I don’t understand why she would wear a necklace that says **** because it’s basically stating that’s what she is. That girl has no self-respect.

  7. @Ella Umbrella,

    I agree 100%

  8. I only e ever hear it in New England or Europe

  9. so what!! Anyway-i love her natural hair lol. it is so fun, pretty too.

  10. She’s an uneducated lost soul.

  11. When you “sing” and “dance” the way Rihanna does, you to resort to wearing **** necklaces and talk about being whipped.

  12. I actually love the word ****…I think that its better than ***** and it just IS what it IS!!…and Rihanna is a singer, not the First Lady…give her some space!!!

  13. Put it this way. I would like to **ck her c**t.

  14. Rihanna got some Whitney Houston vibes coming out now! If this girl dont stop she’s going to end up in a real bad situation were Her Mum and the rest cant get her out of, sad to say….

  15. Why is she looking like that and everything like upset, stuff on her mind, going thru a psychological dilemma?
