Rihanna Gets Waxed

Rihanna is the latest pop star to be immortalized by Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. The singer’s statue was unveiled today and unlike some wax figures they have done in the past, this one was spot on. Artists reportedly studied thousands of photographs and video footage in hopes of capturing what they thought would be Rihanna’s most enduring and memorable look. Not an easy task considering the singer is known to change her look at the drop of a hat. Artists were aided in their work by Rihanna herself, who donated one of her own outfits to be featured on the mannequin. The figure will be part of the museum’s “Glamour Room,” where guests can take photographs with the statues. Rihanna’s effigy is in good company, as it is being displayed right next to the President and First Lady.

  4. I guess I will be the only person questioning why Rhinna was placed in Madame Tussard’s museum. You see, I am old enough to know that in the past only acclaimed persons in their field of work, public or private was “honored” in this way. There was always some outstanding contribution that they made to the world at large, or this country for their replica to be in the museum. These days however, I have seen a lowering of the standards of people who achieve this recognition, much like the Stars on the Hollywood “Walk of Fame.” Every little two-bit, fly-by night performer, actor, etc. is getting these accolades. It’s losing its value. I am still searching to find what contribution Rhinna has made to Society to be in the museum. Could it be her style of dressing, the men she dates, what? Quite frankly, I don’t think she sings well, a lot of fluff, not much substance. Pardon me, but I am from a time when those achievements were given to people who were well deserving, in this case, not so. It actually cheapens the whole thing. Wow!

Who in that museum (in your opinion) made “a contribution to society”?
