Rihanna Is Breaking Records

Remember just how mediocre you thought Umbrella was when you first heard it? Well don’t you all feel silly now? The Europeans are loving this song to the tenth power and then some. In the U.K alone Umbrella is set to spend a tenth week in the top spot, becoming the longest running #1 single in that country in over a decade. Over here in the States the song is doing even better as it has already spent 13 weeks at the top of the Hot 100 chart and may actually stand a chance of becoming the longest running #1 single here as well, besting Boyz 2 Men who have held that coveted title for almost 15 years with their single, End Of The Road. Wow! Who would have thought?

1. go Ri Ri! love that girl. she deserves every bit of success. She’s a breath of fresh air and uses her style and talents to make an impact, not just her butt

2. Wow, this is when you can say the number speak for her voice. I like Rihanna don’t get me wrong but we all know she can’t sing that well but she still producing hit and staying on the charts. All I can say is you can’t hate on her she grinding. Best of luck to her!!! LOL πŸ™‚

3. Wow. You actually stopped sucking on Beyonce’s teets long enough to give Rihanna some credit? Amazing.

4. Go Rihanni that what im talking about. I was telling people to give her some time and she going to be blowing up. Her style is different and she got it going on. Yes her voice it lil off but all she need to do have a singing coach she be ok. She different from beyonce in all types of ways. U keep on doing the damn thing.

5.
Wow. You actually stopped sucking on Beyonce’s teets long enough to give Rihanna some credit? Amazing.
Isn’t it!? LOL TO YA TOO!!!! πŸ™‚

6. I glad too see Rihanna blowing up. She’s actually pretty good. Some sites labeled her as the “Black Brittany Spears” but Ri Ri has her own style, her own techinque so she wouldn’t have to be compared or labeled to anybody else.

7. People like Umbrella :noway: I respect Rihanna’s game but WOW!

8. That lil girl is so smart she actually said that she reads the internet to know what people expect from her or what they think or say about her
that’s a great idea because a lot me include were saying enough with the blond beyonce wig
and she changed her look we said stop with the beyonce like songs and she go inside herself and come back stronger
She is actually mature enough to take a slap in the face, deal with criticizism and come back stronger

Good rihanna Great

9. I’m glad that Rihanna has reached a good level of success. I love her look. Of course people have their own opinion on how she sings , big forehead etc…. I bet those that talk Mess about her cant walk a mile in her shoes. Go RiRi ! :hifive:

10. 13 weeks? Um…”Umbrella” has only been at the top for seven weeks. And there are six other songs that were on longer than β€œEnd of the Road.” Check out Wikipedia’s page on Hot 100 Chart Achievement here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L…..and_trivia

spoken like a true defender of bey…ond truthful information πŸ˜†

i hope that she does break some records with this song! people can’t seem to get it into their heads that not everyone wants to be beyonce! she’s produced a number one hit with every album! that’s good considering she is very new to the game! i hope she blows up! there is space for more than one black female entertainer!

11. oh please the damn teletubbies were #1 in europe so what does that tell you. I will give her this much her songs are catchy but a star she is not.Tell me what star you know that has had longevity that if they can’t sing they can dance or vice versa. Come on now rihanna is a singles star. If you love her so much why are her singles hot but noone takes time to actually buy it. Blowing smoke with no fire. Just tell me what has she done to actually call her a star. Please honestly tell me you think she is talented. πŸ˜†

Who said anything about Beyonce? Not me. I was just trying to point out some relevant facts.

13. Oh, and Rihanna didn’t have any #1s from her first album. “Pon De Replay” was close, but no cigar.

You are incorrect and I actually checked on this before I posted this article. Boyz 2 Men actually have the top 3 longest running singles in U.S History, End Of The Road, One Sweet Day, and I’ll Make Love To You. I was only confused as to whether the longest running single was One Sweet Day or End Of The Road. I remember this like it was yesterday. Boyz 2 Men ruled the airwaves not too long ago. And Wickipedia is not a reliable source as anyone can and routinely do alter what is written there. Do a search for yourself and you willl see that Boyz 2 Men are tops in this category.

As for Rihanna, I went to Billboard and saw 13 weeks of her being #1.

15. All this arguing won’t change the fact that sister is doing her thing and even tough i’m still mad at her for the whole showing her body “like that” she is way classier in her “strip” then we all know who

i wish her the best and i wish her to never push people too far and shove her music down our throats and she’ll be just fine and hated by only those who knows that she is a threat for their idol

Here’s what I read on Billboard.com:

Rihanna’s “Umbrella” (Def Jam) featuring Jay-Z has extended its run at the top of the U.K. singles chart to an epic nine weeks, equaling Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” as the longest of the decade. As previously reported, the track is also in its seventh week atop the Billboard Hot 100. The new U.K. album chart brought a debut No. 1 for rock outfit the Enemy with its first Warner Bros. set, “We’ll Live and Die in These Towns.”

And here’s the link:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003611963

I don’t know about Wikipedia, but I know that article does say seven weeks, not 13.

17.
Wow. You actually stopped sucking on Beyonce’s teets long enough to give Rihanna some credit? Amazing.
Ordinarily I would ban someone like you but I realize that if a site is to be successful even the mentally challenged must be allowed to have their say.

18. Sorry, I didn’t mean to post the Billboard link twice. I also checked allmusic.com. On Boyz II Men’s biography, they have “End of The Road” at 13 weeks; on Mariah Carey’s biography, they have “One Sweet Day” at 16 weeks. I hate to be so technical, but I love reading Billboard and I like trivia like this.

19. You are corrcet JS. I saw 13 weeks beside Rihanna’s name and thought that meant 13 weeks at #1 but it actually meant 13 weeks on the charts.

20.
You are corrcet JS. I saw 13 weeks beside Rihanna’s name and thought that meant 13 weeks at #1 but it actually meant 13 weeks on the charts.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to come on here gang-banging. And I’m not trying to take away from your site or detract from Rihanna’s success.

21. Umbrella is a mediocre single, that hasn’t changed. Great promotion and a very cute video and even that awful remix with Chris Brown have kept the single alive and kicking. I am happy to see this mess isn’t about to overatke One Sweet Day or End Of The Road. That would be pure blasphemy.

22.
Wow. You actually stopped sucking on Beyonce’s teets long enough to give Rihanna some credit? Amazing.
Stupid cunt. You are obviously ugly as well as a hater. I’m surprised you found time in between sucking on Rihanna’s underage p@ssy to actually write as much as you did. :loser:

23. I don’t feel silly at all. I still find the song mediocre. But good for her if it is breaking records, I would expect it do be doing extremely well considering the promotion blitz she got.

24. I like Umbrella and I was just listening to it in the car on the way coming home. The song definately has a different style and taste for a woman of color. Congratulations Rhianna keep bringing difference to the music industry.

25. all the hating on rihanna about she can’t sing is bull shit. janet cannot sing Madonna is not the best singer ciara we all know cannot sing. at least rihanna sings live with a ban and don’t depend on dancing to sell cd’s

26.
at least rihanna sings live with a ban and don’t depend on dancing to sell cd’s
I agree but saying that she cant sing is the only argument they got against that lil girl what else can they say?ugly? f… no she prettier then a lot of them hoz in the industry can’t dance?please everybody with a great choregrapher can dance
that’s all they got let them go on it

27. Rhianna is new, fresh, good at what she does and i’m grateful to have a sista so fresh and intelligent blowing up the charts in Europe and US. She’s seriously hot as well, in a classy not ‘stare at my giggly bits’ way

28. Wow. You actually stopped sucking on Beyonce’s teets long enough to give Rihanna some credit? Amazing.

Ordinarily I would ban someone like you but I realize that if a site is to be successful even the mentally challenged must be allowed to have their say.

Love ya Stephanie. Your’s is one of the best blogs out there. Even if you ban me I’m still gonna read it! I honestly believe your blog reflects a bias that is not good for Beyonce. She needs to step up her game and she can’t if everyone keeps telling her she can do no wrong and she is the ‘hottest chick in the game.’ No one is perfect, as we all saw, she stumbled with her last album. I really think her ego is now overshadowing her talent. And Stella, much love.

29. i really dug the song from jump! ella, ella, ella aaa! :koolaid: :brownsista:

30. Keep wanting to believe that Rihanna is some of you guys answer to stomp out Bey. But it’s gonna take a hella, ella, ella, ella of alot more to stop ms.Bey but it’s ok if the hate makes you feel better. Do you. πŸ˜†

31. First of all, I like Rihanna, and I wish her the best of luck. “Umbrella” is an OK song, but it is growing stale fast.

Second, I am not buying her whole good gone bad image. It all seems forced, and I know it could only come from the man himself, Jay Z. (3 albums in 2 years seems to be a bit much)Please believe Jay isn’t going to bite his other hand(aka Beyonce). All in all, she is a very pretty girl, and I wish her much success.

But I must ask, why is Rihanna celebrated for the same things the woman she claimed to idolize a few months ago is bashed for? I just don’t understand it.

32. oh please the damn teletubbies were #1 in europe so what does that tell you. I will give her this much her songs are catchy but a star she is not.Tell me what star you know that has had longevity that if they can’t sing they can dance or vice versa. what are you talking about? rihanna broke two sales records!
in the uk she became the first singer male or female to debut at #1 on the uk charts based on downloads alone.

in the us, the song made history as the highest downloaded track EVER! yes beating out every song put out by “the hottest chick” in the game who really holds no candle vocally, musically, acting, or grammy wise to alicia keys, and norah jones.

and her song is #1 in more countries than you can count! her album is platinum in canada and many other countries is certified either platinum or gold, and it’s only been out for a month! she has had 7 #1 singles in canada!

best believe she’s making a name for herself with endorsement deals from nike, clinique, jc penny, venus razors, covergirl, and rocawear and she’s not even 20 yet! she’s on her way to becoming an icon! plus she’s classically trained in ballet, shaking your ass is overrated anyways anyone can do that, but who can say they are trained in ballet?

plus to talk about singing. she sings a whole lot better than madonna, ciara, janet, mya, christina milian, britney spears, jessica simpson, and mandy moore. and she sounds exactly the same live as she does on her cd, which truth be told not even “the hottest chick” in the game can do most times.

and this is not hating, just stating facts! love bee but people need to wake up to the fact that rihanna is the one breaking records and there is space on top for both. riri and bee not even competing with each other so why is everyone else acting as if they are?

33.
Wow. You actually stopped sucking on Beyonce’s teets long enough to give Rihanna some credit? Amazing.

This blog is not biased in favor of Beyonce. I was actually thinking about this last night while doing the dishes. There have been 80 topics posted about Beyonce and 91 posted about Janet and 34 about Meagan Good. Far more topics have been posted about Janet though I do believe Beyonce has been included in more random posts threads as she is seen out and about more than Janet.

Still, don’t you get it by now? Brown Sista doesn’t hate on, attack or belittle Black women. We don’t do that here. I am a Black woman and thus I wanna be a part of the biggest baddest group out there. I’m not about to spend my time attacking us as don’t you think enough sites do that already?

If you are looking for Beyonce hate threads or Beyonce wig glue pics, this ain’t the place for that. I’m not gonna help attack her or any other Black woman. That’s not my gig. That ain’t what I do. Not today- tomorrow or ever.

34. Rihana will not kick anyone to the curbs i believe that we are our own demons beyonce will carry her own welcome out if anything happens to her it will be her own fault
i’m quiting trying to make people understand that in other to be successful you need someone to slap you and put you in the rigth path

obviously that is something that our race will never understand if that please some they can stick to labelling, attacking, twisting and name calling i don’t hate anyone if i did i wouldnt be where i am rigth now i just want all of my sisterz to be recognize for what they are :strong, beautiful, honest, and incredibily talented and its not what i see ou there no more i see a bunch of cheap women with low self respect that will do anything to get that paper with green inscription on it
How sad sometimes i wonder why the hell did i go to school? i mean i have hips and thight i have long hair i can sing and with a good choregrapher i’ll be the best dancer ever but is that all we can do ?
Pfffff…
Sorry that was my tought for today

35. ^^

Go’head Dark Sister.

People can say what they want but you got your S*** together.

X your funny. “GIGGLE” CTFU at ya for that one.

Rihanna is cool. I say keep going girl. Your young, fresh and have a great fan base. KEEP DOING YOU! πŸ™‚

36. Well i love Rhianna i think she’s refreshing she’s not in the same mole as the rest of them i.e. Ciaria ,Keisha , Maya so on so forth .Yes I’m in agreement that a singing coach would help for her & Ciaria and a many others,if she wants to be a”Black version of MADONNA” Go for it! you know one thing she won’t be clumped up with the rest of them

Man some of ya ll need to stop sipping on that SZURP Let it go! Let this sister get her shine just like good ol Beyonce getting hers she sucking it up before the light dim for her so let this chick do the same .Don’t hate the sister for getting out her and getting her grind on just like some of ya ll beloved beyonce.show love for any young woman in that business or anywhere else that getting her grind on to make it in this world

37. Rihanna aint dumb jay z is the producer if she had dared speak against beyonce what would have happened? she probably would have been kicked out of the goddamn industry but when is the last time she talked about beyonce as her idol? please now that she blew off she can leave def jam if she wants so the whole “i admire beyonce” speech is gone and mind you beyonce is OVERRATED HER AND HER FAKe aSS HORSE HAIR
holla ^^
Stop the hate on lil rihanna because she prettier and classier then beyonce
she should be vulgar and pueril cuz she a teenager beyonce need to look up to that lil girl hell!

38.
Hey girl how is your baby?
WONDERFUL!!!!!!

She got through it with Flying colors. It was more hard for me than her, now that I look back at it. But GIRL did you hear about what happened in Manhattan with the Man Hole explosion. Why did that happen One Block from my job. I work in the Chrysler building on the 2nd floor and GIRL that ENTIRE BUILDING WAS MOVING. We all thought we were going to DIE. They just opened the building and my firm up today. CRAZY! But God blessed me to be here and my BABY IS PERFECT!!!!!! THANK YOU for your info. It Helped. Because I was so close to changing my mind FOR REAL! LOL!!! πŸ™‚

39. I told you she was going to be okay !
Girl I’VE HEARD oh my god where is this world goin? πŸ™ is everyone okay there?

40. GIRL I thought I was going to DIE! I was just leaving back to Jersey to pick up my Angel face and I seen black smoke and madd people running. My job is only one block and it was crazy. I mean the ENTIRE CHRYSLER BUILDING WAS SHAKING! For the first time in my life I thought I was going to DIE! But I made it back to NJ in one piece.

Everything is back today but it looks horrible. They won’t let us on the street so imagine the NY blocks I had to walk just to get in the Chrysler building today. CRAZY!!!!!!

I’m good girl!! πŸ™‚

41. oh my god

42. I do Ma!

I just came back from shopping for my vacation next week. But now I’m about to leave and I need to reply to some of this stuff girl. So much is going on. This is the most debatable site ever!!! RIGHT!

You stay holding it down. I’ll log on when I get home! TTYL!!! πŸ™‚

43. Lol i don’t work today so i’m bored i mean you gotta be bored to talk to some people up in here you already know its not even debate because there is no exchange in here there is people that believe they are smarter then others when they’re not double losers :loser: :d
where did you shop ap?what you got WHERE YOU GOING now u know im noisy :hifive: πŸ˜† :lol2: πŸ˜€

44. Keyley, why do you so brazenly dishonor this site with your vulgar language? Right up top it says no cursing and you can see that vulgarities are censored out, so why do you continue to curse your way from one post to the next. You are why Tisha Campbell thread was closed shut.

And as for your assertions that Rihanna is so much classier than Beyonce, I wonder what you think of those near nude photos of her that were posted in Paper magazine? Beyonce has taken taken such pics and never will.

Rihanna is no saint and is known as Fire Crotch for a reason. She is as sexual as the next chick and won’t hesitate for a minute to take her clothes off if she knows it will help her sales.

45. “I wonder what you think of those near nude photos of her that were posted in Paper magazine? Beyonce has taken taken such pics and never will”
Funny because i so remenber seing beyonce hoochies trought her underwears in a lot of pictures i suggest you google before adressing the subject i just wish we could be able to post pictures using the htlm codes it will be funny to see the denial
Then again Stella do i know you? did i ever talk to you? I think not don’t adress me i’ve noticed you love to provoque and argue with people over the internet but not every one is missing of actions and exitement in their lives don’t even talk to me I don’t wanna have any kind of conversation with you if you don’t like my posts and wants to say it do it but don’t expect me to play the game with you i don’t like sisters like you never did never will thanks god you don’t like me neither

Hey no where special…Just ATL for my family reunion. I’m just happy to be away from NY and NJ for 5 days. Going to see the FAMILY!!!!! πŸ™‚

BTW….I do think Rihanna is just a sexual as Bee if not sexier to prove she’s not trying to follow in Bee’s footsteps. In all she still a BEAUTIFUL WOMEN in most of the pics I’ve seen her in. πŸ™‚

47. Sexy images sell and that’s the real deal!

Most of our favorite singers and actresses have used their sex appeal in some way shape or form to sell their music or films. Whether it’s in a music video, at a concert, on a magazine cover or on the big screen.

Females (black, white, asian, latina) are taking it off. Shoot, Serena Williams just posed butt nekkid for Jane Magazine (and she looks great).

Heck, some of these men are even following suit now because they see how lucrative it is.

Is it right? Maybe not – but it is what it is 😎

Beyonce is no more guilty of this than anyone else.

48. S dot: they all beautiful no one said they wasnt its just the stans that are always trying to find a way to make beyonce look like a saint they all acting like sluts at least be real enough to admit it they always criticizing someone else but never bee no one is perfect not even thei beyonce they need to know that hell
ATL state of big booties πŸ˜› lool i live in New york too its so crowded girl i feel you

49. keyley,
I agree with you on that. Plus Bee (YOU KNOW I’m a fan of hers)did go naked for Cater to you video and she always said she wouldn’t. I was a little disappointed when I heard that but when I seen it, it look art to me. Just like Rihanna did when she did Umbrella!! They were naked but it was BEAUTIFUL!

GIRL ATL is my spot. I went to Clark down there a while ago. Also, my man LOVES the strip clubs!!!! πŸ™‚ So he’s going to meet my entire family.

I think NY may be the capital of the big booty as well. Hey I know me and my girls are GOOD!!! πŸ™‚ Girl I could never live in NY. I think I would go crazy, especially Manhattan. Are you in the city, oh and where you affected with the Manhole too?

50. s.dot:u let ur man go to strip clubs?i’ll beat him like harpo hell lool
N.Y is more about big thick girls i live there girl i live in the Hudson Heights ya know? i see booty but they aint got nothing on AtL

51. Girl yes he can go and I’m right by his side!!!

He’s a gentleman!!! πŸ™‚

girl don’t say that!!!! I met this guy in ATL and he SWORE (FROM BEHIND) I was from ATL and when I started talking to him and he could tell by my accent I was from Jersey. Anyway he was in AWWW that I was built like those ATL girls and he was like I didn’t think that could happen. CTFU! All my friends are thick with big booties and I can’t wait until Thurs and we all go so that those ATL men can see Jersey and NY got it TOO!! πŸ™‚ LOL to ya!

52. lol s.dot if you there than okay
oh so my girl got some booty?i do too but not enough i want an enhancement i’ve heard there is pills and cream for that but idk where to find that !!!
Iwant to go to atl the men are so delicious

53. Lil riri ^^
YU gOING TO atl GIRL! you is so lucky i wish but ima be on the other side im going to kingston with my half yep love on the beach, coktails, dancehall party girl i hope you have fun :hifive: 😐 :iagree:
hey who said educated sisterz can’t get their groove on?

54. I think Rihanna is a very talented youung lady. I also think she can sing. She is not American and has an accent which makes her sound different from others that are out there. One thing I will say about the Europeans, they really respect and appreciate talent and originality and that girl has it. She can sing, dance, has style, and she is beautiful. I for one am so glad that she has a new look and hope the rest of these young women will take notice, change their look update their style, and stop screaming their songs and calling it singing. I say go for it! She is a breath of fresh air.

55. Ima get one too i feel like giving money to the sista riri should be a whole lot covered but it’s acceptable compared to what i’ve often seen she need less publicity because they are real talent out there then again i can’t get mad at her cause she is far from being OVEREXPOSED hysterical fans and marketing team been shoving someone in our troath for 5 years

as the people get tired of hearing o.r.g.a.s.m and seeing sexual positions mimics i believe they will push a person less vulgar and fresher to the top until jen hud and alicia keys’s album :lol2: :dance1:
b.e.t said it today: she is on her way to make history people underestimating her is doing her good and giving her the strengh to figth when those that are taken for gods fall from their pied d’estal :dance1:
