Rihanna Wins Big At The Much Music Video Awards

Singer Rihanna was one of the big winners last night at Canada’s Much Music Video Awards ceremony. The singer performed her new international smash “Take A Bow” and walked away with two awards, one for Best International Video for her single “Please Don’t Stop The Music” and another for Most Watched Video on MuchMusic.com for her video “Umbrella”. I must admit that i didnt like Rihanna when she first came out. Actually it’s not like i hated her, i just didn’t bother to pay attention as i just thought - not another long haired blond black chic.
However, when i saw her video umbrella, with the short black hair (i had the same style then, copying Posh) i thought she looked amazing as it brought out her eyes more.
Since then i have enjoyed her style and think she has great model looks. Her music is not to my taste, but it doesn’t sound too bad in a club when dancing and slightly drunk.

That is a cute hair cut in the first set of pictures. The dress is nice too. But that suspenders/belt thing has to go. In the second set, those leather pants, the boots and the rest of what she’s wearing is only OK.

I like Rihanna . Love her style. I like the fact that she is not afraid to try something new. People are always saying “Oh she can’t sing.” Compared to who? B? Patti? Whitney? There is room in this arena for everyone. I am not mad. Do you Ri Ri. Her music is pop. It’s fresh. Some people did not think she would make it this far, but she has. It seems like the more she gets hated on, the more exposure she gets. She does not have J Hud’s voice granted, but it’s not horrible. I mean, if Britney has a “career” surely Ri-Ri can have one.

Ohhh, she’s stunning. I love the outfits..both of them. If it weren’t so hot I might run out and get my own leather leggings. I’m a wig fan but I aint feeling this hairdo…she looks much better with the asymmetrical bob. Her performance is aite, I agree with EnglishBabe, it’s great party music. She’s not so hot live-maybe it’s the song, she did open for Kanye’s Glow In the Dark concert and I heard nothing but praises from my peeps who saw her.

I like Rihanna because she is so different. She is not your average singer with the whiney mousing voice and long hair weaved down her back. NO she is not a soulful singer like Whitney or Aretha, but she has a style that is unique and her own. She makes great international music that you can groove to.
