Rihanna is Elle Magazine’s October Cover Girl
In addition to her Fenty Beauty makeup line dropping today, Rihanna is also gracing the cover of the American, U.K., and Portuguese editions of Elle magazine. The 29-year old Work singer was interviewed by magician David Copperfield and saluted by industry friends like Tyra Banks, April Bloomfield and Zac Posen.
Rihanna shared a number of tidbits with the magazine for her cover story, including recounting the loss of her virginity and how makeup has been getting her in trouble since she was a young girl. “Lipstick always got me in trouble. Whether it was at home as a kid, or my early teenage years in my career, I always had the urge to wear it. So, I broke all those rules. Now lipstick is like my lil secret weapon.”
Elle also called on a number of celebrities to submit questions to Rihanna, including actress Laverne Cox, who previously called the singer “the most significant fashion icon of our time.”
Laverne Cox, Actress: You’ve had so many iconic fashion moments and take so many risks. The iconic CFDA Awards Adam Selman dress in 2014—what gave you the courage to take that risk that was so perfect and elegant yet daring?
Rihanna: Dear Laverne, I took advantage of my titties before they go south. I saw my window, and I took it.
