Rihanna Set to Launch Her Own Line of Accessories

RIHANNA $CHOOL KILLS FASHION ACCESSORIES LINE_FotorAccording to published reports, Rihanna and her company Roraj Trade, LLC filed a patent for $CHOOL KIlls with the US Patent and Trademarks Office back in May of this year. At the time no one thought much of it, celebs attempt to patent all sorts of things. However, thanks to Grazia.co.uk, we now know the patent is actually for a new fashion and accessories line the singer hopes to unleash on the world before years end.

I know what you’re all thinking, but nope, not true. Rihanna doesn’t already have her own fashion line. Her much-hyped River Island Collection a few years back was a one-time collaboration with the brand and is now defunct.

$CHOOL Kills will reportedly start off with accessories: jewelry, belts, handbags, things of that nature, and eventually grow to include a full fashion line, including a shoe line the singer is rumored to have designed all on her own.

Rihanna’s past fashion endeavors, including her work as spokesmodels for other brands, have all been extremely lucrative according to fashion writer Maria Vega. “It was only a matter of time before Rihanna stopped working to make other brands rich and started working towards building her own brand,” she recently told WWD. “Rihanna is a fashion icon to young women around the world. This was a smart move, and one that has been in the works for sometime now.

For fans wondering what’s up with the pop diva’s new album, we doubt rumors of the singer putting her music career on the back burner are true. Rihanna’s been spotted in the studio several times this month, and has already said she’s busy working on not one, but two albums.

  1. Nothing Rihanna does fashion wise is going to work because it will always be a side project. One of the reasons Victoria Beckam was able to build up a fashion empire is because it was her main gig and not something she just did on the side to make a few extra bucks. It was her passion and what she spent her time focusing on.

Artists just wanna make some quick cash or hop into fashion because they like clothes and have awesome stylists. That’s fine, but it doesn’t make them designers. Unless Rihanna put this first it will become like previous lines released by Lindsey Lohan, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Paris Hilston and many, many others.

Oh yeah, the name is very suspect. Sounds childish and not like a serious name brand at all.

  2. I agree. She’s no stylist or fashion designer. She’ll make a few million real quick and then it’ll quietly shut down a few years later.
