Rihanna’s Anti Album Cover Art Revealed
Rihanna has unveiled the title to her eighth studio album and surprisingly it isn’t R8. Instead, the 27-year old pop diva shocked fans by naming the album Anti, and unveiling cover art that seems to very much epitomize its name.
Via her Instagram account, Rihanna posted an image containing the definition of the word anti, as well as an un-sourced quote about her partnership with Anti cover artist Roy Nachum.
“In her collaboration with Roy Nachum, Rihanna has changed the history of album art,” the quote reads. “By continuing to follow her own instincts, her work strives to make an impact by doing the very antithesis of what the public expects.”
The Anti album cover was unveiled earlier this evening at an exhibition at the MAMA Gallery in Los Angeles, California. It is reportedly based on Rihanna’s first day of school and show’s a young girl wearing an oversized crown and carrying balloons up against a braille backdrop designed to allow blind people to experience the album via touch.
There is still no official release date for Anti, but I think it’s safe to say the wait is almost over.
