Salt n’ Pepa Show Promo Pics
With the Salt n’ Pepa show just weeks away, VH-1 has released publicity shots of rap music’s original Spice Girls, and I swear looking at these two sistas brings back so many memories for me of growing up in the Bronx. Salt n’ Pepa were to my generation what The Supremes were to my mom’s generation. Yes- it is just that deep. Every Black girl growing up in the NYC wanted to look and dress like S n’ P. The biker shorts and leather jackets, the blond asymetrical hairstyle- you name it- whatever they did- we copied it. I just knew I was Pepa and my girlfriend from upstairs was Salt (lol) .
Pepa still looks like Pepa, attitude and all. While Salt seems to show the most signs of aging. She’s still beautiful, but part of me thinks it may not just be her religion that keeps her from not wanting to perform her old songs. I actually think part of it may simply be that she thinks both she and Pepa are too old to be on stage “shaking their thang” or rapping about shaking their gang.

Salt and Pepa would look ridiculous at their age doing their brand of hip hop just as Snoop will look foolish at 40 standing on stage rapping about some of the stuff he rapped about in his early days. Rap really is a young man’s game. The lyrics are usually either so trivial, juvenile or nasty that an adult doing them would look like a fool. Plus like you said Salt is looking old. In that second pic her body still looks on point but she is an older woman now and she knows it. I cannot see her in good faith rapping any of her old songs at all. She really would look foolish.

I agree with Lovher, Pepa looks like she’s been Lil Kimmed. She looks like she’s had a tune up at the plastic surgeon’s office. Her nose has definitely been nipped and tucked.

I think they both look good! I agree though seeing them sing push push it real good is not really a good look and I doubt that new material would sell. I saw a preview of the show and it looks like it will be entertaining…I’ll watch.

They both are older know close to their 40’s. So they are going to age, but they still look good at their age. Pepa got manly looking legs though, she need to stop with the short shorts, doesn’t look right. She should be more casual like salt. Her face still look young though. I don’t think she got any surgery done, she’s just aging gracefully.

I think they both look great. It seems like every celebrity that has been out of the public eye is riding the reality show train. I am just not feeling it myself. Even Queen Latifah stopped rapping and has evolved into a great actress and showcases her singing skills.

I love thes Ladies. They are living proof that Black women can stick together if they really try. So many groups go up in the air b/c of silly things, I am glad they stuck together and kept spats (if any) to themselves

Pepa has had a nose job (it’s been confirmed by her people)!! She had her boobs done a while back but recently her nose. Are we {some blacks} really still being ashame of our black features? It’s so sad! BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL- everything about you! God created you and that’s the only form of perfection!!!

Yes I noticed her nose job right away. She almost looks like a Jackson (Btw I love the Jacksons). The boobs I hadn’t paid attention to. I agree with the comments above. I believe in brushing up on the things God has blessed you with. I love to work out, so whatever I am not crazy about on my body, I just work on it and do the best I can with it.

Salt looks great. She’s aging nicely. Pepa - there was absolutely nothing wrong with her face. Compared to how Salt is dressed, Pepa looks like damn fool. She’s, what, a mother and over 35 she needs to have some respect for herself. The woman is LOST. With her an that nose job, S n P are going out played. Pepe played herself terribly bad. It was bad enough that a grown woman and mother would be deep throating a banana on national TV, but I am now convinced she’s lost few screws. They should have stayed out of site if she was going to do that.

I just heard on the radio and I read on media take-out that VH1 producuers had to break up a fist fight between the two during taping of the show. I don’t judge anyone for fighting,although most people think it is immature, sometimes it is necessary. I’m just curious as what would trigger such an incident. Also both media sources say that pepa has had a nose job.

Salt- n- Pepa have been screwing Spin over for years. If you saw their Behind The Music special some years back you remember how they didn’t allow Spin to share in the profits when the group finally got a big pay day. They said because Spin wan’t there in the early days and didn’t suffer as much as they had she didn’t deserve to a share of the profits. Now they have this show and again Spin is no where to be found. When money is involved friendship goes straight out the window.
