Tennis ace Serena Williams, who is in Beijing at the Olympics making her first appearance in the women’s singles competition, is featured in the latest edition of Men’s Fitness Magazine. Serena, who has has often been lauded for her athletic ability, but rarely her beauty, was named one of the sexiest athletes in the world by the men’s mag and is featured is an eye catching pictorial as well. Donning a variety of outfits, including a hot pink one-piece bikini, the 5′8 brickhouse showed off her glamorous side and even let the magazine in on what she finds most appealing about herself, as well as the opposite sex.
On finding guys who can keep up with her fitness level…
“I’m attracted to guys who are really athletic, so it’s never a problem. To be honest, I absolutely hate working out, I hate going to the gym. I do it only ’cause it’s my job, and I think about it like, OK, other people’s jobs are to go to the office nine to five, and my job is to go the gym and look sexy. That’s the only thing that gets me through it.”
On her favorite physical part of her body…
“I love my smile. My smile and my cleavage. [Laughs] I think they go really well together.” [Laughs]
On guys being intimidated to date her because of her athletic status…
“It definitely makes it harder, which is not really cool because I”m like the girl next door. My attitude is so relaxed and so chill, and what you see is what you get. I guess sometimes people get intimidated, not by my being Serena Williams, but just more or less by the things that I’ve accomplished and the things that I might have in my life. I think for any woman who is strong and supports herself, that tends to be a problem.”
On what she looks for in a guy…
“I’m a sucker for gentlemen, I’m old fashioned. I’m a girl who believes that a guy should take the lead. They should open doors, close doors. I also look for someone who has a good relationship with their mom. My mom always said, ‘Look for someone whom you can laugh with, ’cause it means you can have fun with that person.’ ”
On major turnoffs…
“Guys should never grab me. I hate when guys grab girls. I think it’s so rude. I’ve been grabbed numerous times. Don’t touch. I”m not your property. I absolutely hate that.”
On what she’d be doing if not playing tennis…
“I love acting and writing, so I would probably either be a struggling actress or a writer.”
Serena has mostly caught flack from her own people. I hear more Blacks calling her ugly and manly looking than anyone else. She’s always been attractive but with Blacks they need the White man to sanction a Black woman’s beauty before they will.

She’s dating Common who I always thought was a real strong man for being able to date a Black woman most Black men insult. All brothas ever say is that they will “F” her but that’s it.

She looks pretty in the shots. Everybody is not going to like the same thing, we are all attracted to different things. It’s no secret that Serena is a athlete w/ strong atheletic features. Some men love it & some men don’t. The same theory applies to female body builders, some men love the muscles, some men don’t. All that matters is that you can love & appreciate YOU. Because if you can do that, within time you will find someone who too appreciates & loves YOU. Either way the photos are a good look for her :).
I agree with Blame it on tha Rain…everyone is not going to like the same thing. Everyone does not find strong athletic features attractive and we’re all entitled to an opinion. Why must everything be about self hatred and “our people” – damn! Personally I wouldn’t hold my breath for “our people” to give me a compliment. Beauty is also about having a healthy self esteem so I am sure Serena could not care less about what any race says about her including her own.

Celine is on point. Venus and Serena get slack all day every day from their own people cause they ain’t mixed. Every other day the light skin/bi-racial chick is thrown in our faces as the standard of beauty to aspire to and the Williams sisters continually get the short end of the stick. They really don’t get the respect they deserve cause they’re women and they’re pure black; not mixed.
Light skin people. Don’t get your panties in a bunch cause of what I said. Cause I’m light skin. But I’m wise enough to know that their is a difference in the acceptance of the Williams sisters.

@Harlem Chick im not even mad at you im a light skinned woman. You know what it is the media and the world is poisoning people minds. My mother taught me alot to respect all shapes and sizes and colors. Have a open mind about people. I live upstate when i started hanging out in the city that really open my eyes. There r alot of beautiful brown people in the world. I remember growing up in the 80’s remember light skinned men was in. I was alway into the dark skinned men i think they r some beautiful spements lol. I alway think Serena and Venus is beautiful women. There bodies r off the hook hands down. I feel like we do not embrace each other. I know everyone is not going to like how they look but like i said this world is poison place when it comes to looks.
This is the best I’ve ever seen her; very sexy. But to me, she looks her overall best when she’s wearing out her opponent on the tennis court.
P.S. Right now Serena and Venus are at the Bejing Olympics. I hope they both win the Gold Medal.

I think the pictures are beautiful. And yes they are airbrushed somewhat, just like the picutres of Bey, Rihanna, Ciara, Megan and I could go on and on. I dont hear anyone complaining about those picures being airbrushed.
Serena and Venus are just like everyone other woman, they had to grow into their woman hood just like Torya said. I think we all have to. However, I think they are two beautiful black sistas. Just like the ladies I mentioned above. Its just that they dont get as many compliments. I thinks it takes so much courage and strength to do what they do in front of the world.
I hope they beat the breaks off of everyone they encounter while playing in the Olympics. I just love both of these ladies. They are classy, poised, black businesswomen.

Even though most celebs are airbrushed/photoshopped, certain celebs require a lot more correcting for a nice picture then others- it’s just the truth. This is the best I’ve ever seen Serena! Normally, I don’t find her attractive but she looks good here. Why people have to get mad though? Just because someone doesn’t find another person good looking. I will absoulutely love the day when we can discuss ourselves as a people and don’t have to bring up the white man.
