Any event hosted by Maxim Magazine is sure to bring out the beautiful people and last night was no exception. The magazine hosted their 10th Annual Hot 100 celebration and Brown Sistas Elise Neal, Gabrielle Uinion and Ciara all attended- and in the case of Cici and Gabby- actually made this year’s list. Gabrielle Union seems to appear on Maxim’s Hot 100 list every year and rightfully so- while Ciara, I believe, makes her first appearance this year. The singer came in at #32, above Gabrielle (71), Michelle Obama (93) , and Beyonce who came in at #52. Rihanna, whose stock has risen tremendously over the last three years, actually cracked the top 10 and came in at #8.

Gabrielle is stunning and Ciara is as well but not here. I hate those cornrolls and dramatic makeup. There should be more black celebs on the maxim list and at a higher rank. The media always tries to downplay Black beauty. Most of the black celebs in Hollywood are actually better looking than their white counterparts but I guess it’s “their” world.
This list is a joke to me. The top 10 with the exception of Rihanna and a few others do not belong in the top 10. Olivia Wilde, number 1?Jennifer Love Hewitt, really? But I digress. I am not a man so I guess that’s why I don’t understand.

Hollywood does try to downplay black beauty as Nina stated. It is sad and I don’t like that list from Maxim as it is not really an outlet for black people period. But I am happy that some of our favorite brownsistas are in there.
Yes i was shock at the list too but at least rhi-rhi is up there. I see bee slip alot. At least michelle obama is on the count down. But yes this list is for you know who. To me the first five there body look the same to me. Nothing special. Where the real hips and curves. We need are own maxim 100.

Rihanna is the most beautiful black woman in the maistream media no question asked! i am happy at least one black woman made it to the top 10 and she is drop dead gorgeous

@The people saying that bee should of been in the top five. She was in the top five i think like two yrs in the row. But she really fall alot. To me it all about new faces in the industry period. You see halle did not make it at all she was alway in the top ten. Like i said we should have are own list of brownsistas period.
Because, black women body types are for those who like those body types, same with white women, it’s what is attractive to a certain culture, and the culture that is going to buy their product. It’s all about money.
I find it funny how people love to say what is discrimination, and voice their opinion on black beauty, but the women on black blogs that are always put on peddlestools are always light complexion , with certain features. but the white community is racist.
Besides, there are many factors that goes into who is put on an Hot List for any magazine.
Black women get me, Gabby should have been higher on the list, but people aren’t complaining about that. But, are upset with Ciara, Beyonce, Rianna placements on the lists. And you call the white community racists! SAD. Remember, white and other cultures see beauty differently than we do. We view beauty as anything close to white.
Besides, other factors go into making the Maxim List.
For black women to complain about Kim K alot , she sure does pop up on every black blog and black women love to discuss her. Why is that? Just call her a black woman and call it the day. She dates bruthas, anyway. lo
@ voice i was thinking the same thing….Ciara and Kim K are very close…am starting to believe the rumour that Kim K is Jiggaz sidekick i mean Ciara will be touring with Jigga,okay i wont be suprised if bey follows them around like she did when riri was touring with jigga.
