Want more Soul Food? Well, Fox 2000 hopes you do because they are in the process of commissioning a sequel to the successful 1997 film which starred Nia Long, Vanessa L. Williams and Vivica A. Fox.

We first heard rumor of a new Soul Food back in 2011, but that one pertained to the television version which ran on Showtime from 2000-2004 and starred the other Vanessa Williams, Nicole Ari Parker and Malinda Williams.

This revamped Soul Food will feature an entire new cast of Joseph family members and will be written by the film’s original director Joseph Tillman and his partner Nathan Skulnik. Tracey and Babyface Edmunds are also back on board as producers.

No casting decisions have been made yet. Nor do we know if any of the original cast members will make appearances. Whatever the case, I’m already Hungry !
