Singer Mary J. Blige has unveiled the latest visual offering from her “A Mary Christmas” seasonal CD.

“My Favorite Things” is the second track to be released from the album, which thanks to a slew of live performances by Mary, experienced a near 90% increase in sales last week. The album presently sits at #1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart- dethroning Justin Timberlake’s “20/20” Experience, which had previously held the #1 spot for six weeks.

Although her ‘A Mary Christmas’ CD came out a few weeks ago, singer Mary J. Blige is only now releasing the video for its first single, the Judy Garland classic, ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.’

The video is being released just in time for Mary’s first holiday flick ‘Black Nativity,’ due out November 29th.

Mary will contribute several songs to the soundtrack, including ‘Noche Pe Paz’, which features Latin crooner Marc Lopez.

Mary J. Unveils X-Mas Single

With her first Christmas album less than a week away from hitting record store shelves, singer Mary J. Blige has unveiled its first single, the classic Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

As previously reported, Mary’s first Christmas album, A Mary Christmas, is produced by David Foster and features such classics as Little Drummer Boy, Do You Hear What I Hear, which features singer Jessie J and Noche De Paz which features Latin crooner Marc Anthony.

Mary will follow up her Christmas album with Black Nativity, her first Christmas film, which is set for a November 27th release.

So, you see… it all goes together. Christmas album, Christmas film… I’m sure Mary is hoping you spend your money on both.

Singer Mary J. Blige is releasing a Christmas album.

As previously reported, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is planning on releasing her first album of traditional holiday favorites, and has officially set an October release date for the project.

Mary first spoke of the album back in June when she performed alongside singer Jennifer Lopez at the Chime for Change concert. It was then the two divas reportedly decided to do a duet which is rumored to be featured on the album.

This will be Mary’s first Christmas CD, though she has previously appeared on Christmas albums by both Andrea Bocelli and Rod Stewart.

Mary’s album will be produced by legendary songwriter/producer David Foster. Foster has previously produced Christmas albums by Josh Groban, Celine Dion, Michael Bublé and many others.
