‘Talk a Good Game’ Makes Top 5 Debut

Kelly Rowland’s ‘Talk a Good Game’ album has sold 65,913 copies in its first full week of release, a number good enough to secure the singer the number four spot on this week’s Billboard 200.

Kelly came in right behind Mac Miller’s ‘Watching Movies with the Sound’ (101,795), J. Cole’s ‘Born Sinner’ (297,922) and Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ (328,800).

Though warmly received by fans and critics alike, ‘Talk a Good Game’ is actually Kelly’s lowest debut album to date. 2002’s ‘Simply Deep’ moved 77,000 copies in its first week- as did 2011’s ‘Here I Am.’ To date Kelly’s highest debut has been 2007’s ‘Ms Kelly’ album, which debuted with first week sales of just over 86,000.

Sales aside, ‘Talk a Good Game’ is Kelly’s most honest album to date and one you should all pick up if you haven’t already.

Michelle Williams “The Greatest” Video

Michelle Williams Six years after releasing her first solo album, Michelle Williams is finally back with her sophomore effort, “Unexpected”. Michelle’s new opus hit record store shelves earlier this week. Unfortunately, Hits Daily Double, has not posted their one day sales report which would have given us a glimpse into where Michelle’s album would have possibly landed on the charts next week. This is news I know everyone is excited to hear seeing as how Michelle’s entire album leaked to the net almost a month ago. Few people seem to think Michelle’s album will go top 10, but luckily for the singer, her record label seems to be sticking by the project. “The Greatest”- the second single from Unexpected is about to be sent to radio stations and a video has been shot as well.

Janet Jackson Likes Being On Top

Janet Jackson After a 30+ year career in the entertainment industry and a 20+ year career on top of the music charts- Janet Jackson shows no signs of giving up her position. Hits Daily Double guesstimates that Janet’s new CD, “Discipline” sold about 180,000 copies- enough to put it in the #1 position on this week’s Billboard chart. Janet didn’t start promoting her new CD until last week when she performed on Good Morning America and MTV’s TRL, which makes her sales even more impressive. Look for Janet to keep up the heavy promoting this week as well. Janet appeared on the Tyra Banks show earlier today and is scheduled to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live later on tonight.
