Ashanti performed at the Third Annual Hennessy Artistry Series, last night in Chicago. The singer is presently out promoting her Declaration CD and recently revealed that a compilation of previously unreleased material would be packaged up and released as an album, The Vault, on October 14th. The Vault contains vocal recordings penned by Ashanti in 2001 while signed exclusively to AJM Records. This composite of work was completed before AJM’s joint venture with Murder Inc in 2002 and before Ashanti became a star. Producers have been brought in to touch up the recordings and Flo Rida was specifically brought in to add a special touch to Crazy, a song producer Miguel Baeza seems to think has the potential to become a hit. Condé Nast’s 5th Annual ‘Fashion Rocks’ concert took place last night @ NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. Celebeauties like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Solange, Mariah, Mary J, and much more performed, but the biggest attraction was, of course, the fashion.

Heineken’s Third Annual Red Star Soul Concert kicked off last night and featured performances from singers Ashanti and Goapele. The nine city tour, which was created to celebrate soul music and shine a spotlight on emerging artists, was attended on it’s opening night by Brown Sistas Meagan Good, Shante Broadus, Elise Neal, and many others. It seems Ashanti has another modest hit on her hands with her new single “Good Good”. The track, which officially went for adds today, was the #1 most added song at urban radio stations; and not one to waste time, the singer’s record label also released the video for the single today as well. The Melina directed clip features a cameo from rapper Nelly and features the singer all dolled up in hair curlers and surrounded by tasty treats. “Good Good” was written by Ashanti and Nelly and marks the fourth time the couple have collaborated on a song together.
