Beyonce Knowles is set for a fashion war showdown with Victoria Beckham over sunglasses. The R&B diva has revealed she’s hoping to add sunglasses to the Knowles family’s House Of Dereon style empire - a move which will directly impact Posh Spice Beckham’s accessory line. Beckham has wowed the Hollywood elite with her jeans and sunglasses for the past 18 months - with Eva Longoria Parker and Jennifer Lopez among the fans of her stylish sunspecs. But now Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles have their sights set on sunglasses success. Tina Knowles says, “I can’t wait for jewellery and sunglasses because we’re just accessories people.”

Beyonce Knowles, Ali Larter and Idris Elba will star in “Obsessed,” a thriller that Screen Gems will put into production this summer. Steve Shill will direct a script by David Loughery. Will Packer produces, and Knowles will be exec producer along with her father, Mathew Knowles. Screen Gems topper Clint Culpepper is finalizing cast deals, working with Knowles’ and Larter’s reps to iron out scheduling kinks. Knowles is also producing and co-starring as Etta James in “Cadillac Records” for Sony BMG; Larter is working on episodes of NBC’s “Heroes. “In “Obsessed,” Elba will play an asset manager who has a knockout wife (Knowles) and thriving career until a temp office worker (Larter) begins stalking him. Knowles was last seen onscreen in “Dreamgirls,” Larter in the Screen Gems films “Resident Evil: Extinction” and “Final Destination,” and Elba last appeared in “American Gangster.” He next stars in “Prom Night” for Screen Gems.

Vivica Fox was one of the few celebrities who skipped the NBA Allstar Festivities held over the weekend. Instead the sista was seen at the Grand opening of Mario Barth’s Starlight Tattoo at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. Vivica too has been sporting a very Rihanna-esque asymmetrical short bob lately- and I must admit it does look good on her.

Is anyone besides me watching the Grammys tonight? My gosh it is such a snooze fest. I usually skip the show and catch the highlights online, but because rumors of a Janet Jackson performance have been sweeping the net recently, I decided to tune in. Unfortunately, Janet has not taken to stage yet and wasn’t on the red carpet either. Alicia Keys however, performed a duet with Frank Sinatra and Rihanna performed alongside The Time.

Other Brown Sistas to walk the red carpet so far include Fantasia, Toccara and Keyshia Cole.

At Last Beyonce is heading back to the big screen and once again she will be singing. Sticking to what she obviously knows best, Bey will be playing the role of famed soul singer Etta James in the new movie, Cadillac Records. The Dreamgirls actress will join Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Cedric the Entertainer in the 1950s-set film, reports AOL.com. Actor Matt Dillon has been replaced by Oscar-winning Brody in the role of Leonard Chess, the founder of legendary blues label Chess Records, after scheduling conflicts forced him to pull out of the project. Filming is due to take place later this year (08) in New Jersey and Mississippi.

Now that the WGA has agreed not to the picket the Grammys, artists are coming from left and right trying to grab a coveted performance spot on the shows 50th Anniversary telecast. So far Beyonce and Tina Turner have been confirmed and are expected to open the show with a duet. Rumors are also running rampant that Janet Jackson will perform, after a 21 year absence. Blake McGrath, a backup dancer for Janet, told MTV Canada in an interview that they were rehearsing for the show. However, no official word from Janet’s camp has come down so only time will tell if this rumor is true. Another name being thrown around is Whitney Houston. Word has it Clive Davis thinks the Grammys is the perfect place to re-introduce Whitney to the industry and world at large.

Much hoopla has been made over the years concerning Beyonce and her chosen hairstyle- an often light gold-ish blond lace front wig. I never got the controversy and often considered it just a personal style choice. Much like Tina Turner’s wild blond wig of the 80’s, I considered Beyonce’s hairstyle “a defining look”, nothing more- nothing less. However, like all great chameleons, Beyonce is now changing her look by moving away from the blond style that has defined her for almost a decade and has decided instead to take on a much darker look. And though I hear this new look praised by many- it gets a big fat thumbs down from me. Contrary to popular opinion not everyone can wear almost jet black hair. It is almost as dramatic a color as platinum blond and one must have the proper undertones in their skin to truly pull it off- and Beyonce does not pull off this color well at all. Not only does it wash her out and make her look tired, it also reduces her to being just another face in the crowd.

Bey is pretty in pink and obviously chose to take advantage of the mild temperatures in New York by sportin’ capri pants in January.
