It was a busy weekend for sistas as Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and Solange Knowles all attended big events. Solange celebrated her b’day down in New Orleans with big sis Beyonce by her side. While Rihanna and Alicia Keys participated in a much more selfless event, Live Earth. First up however is Solange who celebrated her birthday for the second time at the Essence Music Festival where Beyonce performed last night . Solange turned 21 years old and rumors are running rampant that not only will there be a Destiny’s Child reunion album, but that Solange will be added as a fourth member. Tameka Foster, better known to world as Usher’s fiancé, sat down to talk to Essence Magazine about the innuendo, speculation and out right un truths that are often printed about her and her relationship with the much younger singer. Tameka pulls no punches and answers questions openly about her former husband, where her children are and if she really was the cause of Usher firing his mother as his manager. I’m sure all you die hard Janet Jackson fans know that Wednesday, May 16th was our girl’s 41st. birthday. TV One will pay tribute to Miss Jackson by running a marathon of Janet’s videos as well as television shows she has appeared in from 12-10pm and again from midnight to 6am. Tune in to check out Janet as the adorable Penny Woods who got burnt with an iron by Kim Fields‘ crazy mama- lol. As well up to date interviews and performances by the woman who spawned a generation of male and female admirers- and clones.

The Bahamas is definitely the place to be this weekend as hordes of celebrities have converged on the islands to celebrate the grand opening of the Atlantis Phase III luxury resort. Stevie Wonder celebrated his birthday there while designer Kaimilla also used the occasion to show off her 2007 fashion line. However, the biggest event to take place so far was Janet Jackson’s mini concert Friday evening. Janet performed a medley of her hits and proved that she still has what it takes to pull in a big name crowd as Babyface, Ashanti, Usher and Tyra Banks were just a few of the celebs who attended her show.

Andrea Kelly saunters into the room with her stiletto boots clicking, her shoulder-length curls bouncing; she’s sparkling like the crystal hoops dangling from her ears. Despite her famous last name, few in the room know who she is. She’s used to that. Andrea has been ignored before, like in those posh stores near Chicago’s Gold Coast or in Los Angeles, where burly bouncers blocked her from crossing the velvet ropes—that is, until the gatekeeper found out who she was. Then it was “Oops.†Disbelief turned to immediate accommodation. And then came the apologies, “Sorry, Mrs. Kelly.†But mostly it’s, “I didn’t know he had a wife.”

Actress Halle Berry threw her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry a surprise birthday bash last night in New York City. The party was sponsored by Calvin Klein and was held in the Willemina offices. As many of you know, Gabriel was a model and he and Halle met when they both worked on a campaign for Calvin Klein. Gabriel must be doing something right because Halle is absolutely glowing. Likewise, Halle’s romance game must be just as tight because Gabriel is looking pretty darn happy himself. Good for them !
