Monique Lhuillier gowns, Zac Posen dresses, Cartier jewels, and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. What could make any celeb-fashion event better? — Music! Condé Nast’s 5th Annual ‘Fashion Rocks’ concert took place last night @ NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. Celebeauties like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Solange, Mariah, Mary J, and much more performed, but the biggest attraction was, of course, the fashion.

It’s been nearly four years since Brandy last released a video but that is all about to change as the singer/actress was spotted out on the streets of Los Angeles earlier this week taping the new video for her single, Right Here (Departed). Brandy says her CD is an unadulterated look into her heart and her most personal album to date. “I have grown so much since my last album. Being able to express myself and my journey through my music is a feeling I can’t describe. With this new chapter of my life it feels good to have Rodney (Darkchild), a familiar face, by my side again. He brings out emotions in me like nobody else.” The new album, recently renamed “Human”, will be released November 11th via Epic Records and the Right Here video is scheduled to debut early September via Yahoo Music. Things have been relatively quiet for awhile in the career of pop star/actress Brandy but that is bound to change with the release of her fifth studio album, to hear producer RedOne tell it. He recently finished recording “a big ballad that is going to break people’s hearts” with Brandy. “She’s really coming hard,” he says, “going really, really good now. From what I hear, Rodney Jerkins is doing his thing and doing some great things with her and the timing is perfect.” Brandy, who was badly shaken by the fatal car crash in which she was involved at the end of 2006, dropped out of serving as a judge on “America’s Got Talent” in 2007 and hadn’t been heard from much since. All that however will change tomorrow when the singer’s debut single, from her upcoming album, makes it worldwide debut on her official MySpace Page. Read the rest of this entry »

R n’ B singer Brandy and her six year old daughter Sy’rai are the newest faces of Skecher’s “Nothing Compares To Family” campaign. The campaign, which is slated to run through 2009, will support Brandy’s own “Norwood Foundation”, which provides educational grants and cultural enrichment to at risk youth, as well as several other celebrity foundations, including those run by Tori Spelling and singer Alicia Keys. Brandy, who is still in the studio working on her fifth studio album, is said to be in the final stages of recording and hopes to have the cd out by the first quarter of 2009. A new track from Brandy has surfaced. As you all know, the singer is hard at work in the studio putting the finishing touches on her fifth studio album and “List” is just the latest in a long line of possible tracks to be featured on that album, that have leaked onto the internet. The single was reportedly written by James Fauntleroy (No Air by Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown) and produced by the Underdogs (Dreamgirls Soundtrack, Usher’s Here I Stand). Take a listen to the new track here and look for Brandy’s new album to be released by her new record label, Epic Records, this fall. The singer is expected to reunite with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins on the new CD, which I’m sure comes as good news to Brandy’s longtime fans.

Singer Brandy Norwood is currently in the studio recording her fifth studio album and a host of a-list writers and producers have been brought in to help stage her comeback. Rodney Jerkins, who produced Feedback for Janet Jackson, is said to be the executive producer of the as yet untitled CD. However, Polow da Don, Scott Storch, and The Neptunes are also expected to contribute tracks and production work as well. And though the new CD isn’t expected to drop until much later this year, supposed new singles from that CD have been steadily leaking to the net over the last few weeks. Read the rest of this entry »

Musically, R n’ B singer Brandy Norwood has been pretty quiet these last few years. In light of her legal woes stemming from the 2006 accident in which a woman was killed, we pretty much understand why Brandy hasn’t found much time to record new music. Things however may be looking up for the singer as her legal troubles are behind her and new tracks from her as yet untitled album, have slowly but surely made their way onto the internet. The most recent track to be leaked to the net is “Dig This”, a song that will appear on the soundtrack to Tyler Perry’s new movie, “Meet The Browns” . Click here to listen to the new single and look for the soundtrack to hit record store shelves next week and “Meet The Browns” hits theaters across the country on the 21st.

Sonja Norwood, mother of R n’ B singer Brandy, is suing reality television family the Kardashian’s, claiming that they ran up more than $120,000 worth of expenses on her credit card when Kim Karadashian was employed as Brandy’s stylist back in 2004. According to documents obtained by TMZ.com, Ms Norwood alleges that Kim “was authorized to make one (and only one) purchase on behalf of the Plaintiff, using Plaintiff’s American Express credit card. Neither Kim nor any of the other Defendants were ever authorized to make any further purchases on, or charges to, Plaintiff’s credit card.” The lawsuit claims that Kim disclosed the details of her credit card to other members of her family, and that “each of them, have improperly, and without any permission or authority whatsoever, made charges to Plaintiff’s credit card, claiming to be employed by Brandy or Plaintiff in one capacity or another.” Read the rest of this entry »
