R&B star BRANDY is all set to start 2008 on a high if new police reports suggesting she was not to blame for a 2006 fatal traffic accident come to fruition. The singer has spent the past year in the spotlight following the December, 2006 traffic accident, which left one woman dead - but no charges have been brought against her. And now it seems the reason why potential vehicular manslaughter charges have been delayed is because the evidence suggests the dead motorist may have been at fault. A California Highway Patrol insider tells TMZ.com that Brandy may have been the victim of a bad driver.

Singer Ashanti stopped by 106 & Park yesterday to talk about her upcoming movie, Resident Evil: Extinction, as well as her new single, Hey Baby, which has now officially been confirmed as the first single from her upcoming album, The Declaration. I listened to the single earlier today on Ashanti’s MySpace Page and honestly, I do not like it. I don’t think it is suitable as a comeback track and a comeback is excatly what Ashanti is trying to do. Her last album was released three years ago and it did not sell as well as her previous two albums. Since then the musical landscape has changed quite a bit, with singers like Beyonce, Ciara and Rihanna now occupying the throne Ashanti once shared with singers like Brandy and Monica.

The BET Awards are scheduled to air tomorrow night and of course that means lots of pre Awards parties have been happening over the last few days. One of those parties, hosted by Kevin Liles, attracted a slew of beautiful brown Brown Sistas, including Elise Neal, Shaun Robinson and Melyssa Ford.

Singer Rihanna has made the cover of her new album Good Girl Gone Bad, available via her official website and I must say I am very impressed with it. It’s understated yet eye catching at the same time. Rihanna appears to definitely be flexing her glamour girl image and this cover will no doubt help to solidify that image. And though I have never been a fan of her music, I predict the sista’s star will continue to rise, especially with the release of the new album. Rihanna has the backing of a very powerful record label as well as corporate agencies and sponsors who have a lot invested in her becoming the next big thing. Add her good looks and youthful innocence to the equation and I think we have the makings of another Brandy- yes I said Brandy.

AT 27, Brandy is already a Hollywood success story. She topped the music charts, had a popular TV sitcom, and is a single mom to an adorable little girl. Now she’s back in the limelight as a celebrity judge on the addictive reality competition show America’s Got Talent, and tells OK! that she’s prepared to find love again. “I think true marriage is the bond between two people,” she tells OK!. “The more I develop and the stronger I get as a woman, I will automatically attract what I need and want in a man.”

Big Hair
“Hair is hot right now,” says Amos. “And lots of it!” Amos suggests wearing hair big this season. Take notes from Beyoncé, who is doing things big these days - especially with her hair. From award show appearances to her sexy “Deja Vu” video, the Grammy Award-nominated songstress is donning big, wavy, beautiful curls. To create the look, try pumping up your hair (or extensions) with large hot rollers or a large barrel curling iron just before you wash your hair. “Dirty” hair is your best friend when going for the wild look, experts say. After curling hair, flip your head upside down and scrunch the roots of your hair with a dab of volumizing gel. Then apply a small amount of pomade to your ends so your hair won’t look dull or dry. Spritz with a small amount of holding spray and then go rock the party. Oh, but be sure to wash everything out the following morning or you’ll have a matted mess to deal with.
