Netflix’s recent canceling spree has officially come to an end. Over the weekend the network announced the renewal of two of its freshman series, F is for Family and the Ivy League college dramedy Dear White People. The latter’s cast broke the news to fans while appearing on a panel at this year’s Essence Musical Festival.

Justine Skye to Star in Keanu Reeves Drama
Justine Skye has landed her first acting role. The up-and-coming R&B singer will star opposite Tyler Dean Flores in the Keanu Reeves-produced coming-of-age film Green Dolphin. The road trip style drama follows 15-year old Robinson (Flores) and 20-year old Keesha (Skye) as they crisscross the country in an attempt to escape Robinson’s abusive and drug-dealing foster parents.

Actress Taraji P. Henson is once again teaming up with writer/producer Tyler Perry. According to published reports, the Empire star has landed the lead role in Tyler’s upcoming film She’s Living My Life. The project is already in production and has a release date of March 30, 2018 (Easter Weekend).

LaTavia Roberson previews new music for fans. The former Destiny’s Child singer took to Instagram earlier today to share snippets of her new EDM single titled Best Time of Your Life. The Bipolarbeatz-produced track will act as a promotional single, though LaTavia does not say for what. She’s been hinting at releasing a solo album for a while now, so maybe this is her way of testing the waters.
