Up and coming dance diva, Ciara, appeared on the Tyra Banks show Friday and after the usual chit chat, Tyra got right down to the nitty gritty and asked Ciara the question that has been on everyone’s mind: Is she dating rapper 50 Cent? And as expected, Ciara blushed like a school girl and then commenced to denying that she and Fiddy were anything but good friends. Ciara says Fiddy appearing in her video and the photo shoots they did together were all business related and nothing more. Singer Ashanti stopped by 106 & Park yesterday to talk about her upcoming movie, Resident Evil: Extinction, as well as her new single, Hey Baby, which has now officially been confirmed as the first single from her upcoming album, The Declaration. I listened to the single earlier today on Ashanti’s MySpace Page and honestly, I do not like it. I don’t think it is suitable as a comeback track and a comeback is excatly what Ashanti is trying to do. Her last album was released three years ago and it did not sell as well as her previous two albums. Since then the musical landscape has changed quite a bit, with singers like Beyonce, Ciara and Rihanna now occupying the throne Ashanti once shared with singers like Brandy and Monica.

Rocawear has debuted another ad featuring singer Ciara and I am now officially convinced that someone gave an eighth kid a camera and sent him out to take these pics. When I first saw this pic I wasn’t even sure if it was Ciara or not but apparently it is. This pic is the latest in a long line of uninspiring print ads Rocawear has rolled out for their “I Will Not Lose” campaign. However, unlike in the other ads, I can actually see these clothes a little bit better and they are not half bad. Actually I love the creamy beige color. It’s a color I and most brown skin sistas tend to look good in. Not feeling those manly boots though, it completely takes away from the femininity of the outfit.

Today’s Mega Picture Post will consist of images from Conde Nast’s Fashion Rocks show which went down last night in New York City. Black Female Star Power was in full effect as everyone from Tyra Banks to Mary J. Blige, who performed with Usher, came out to take part in the festivities. Fashion Rocks will air tonight on CBS so don’t forget to check out the performances, but for now, we have plenty of pics to share with you. To your right we have Mary and Usher, who left his new bride, to perform at the show. I have no idea what they sang but I am anxious to see their performance, as I am curious as to whether Usher can vocally hang with Mary.

Fashion Week officially kicked off Monday and since then there have been dozens of fashion and fashion related events attended by Brown Sistas. Sudanese model Alek Wek debuted her book, Alek: From Sudanese Refugee To International Supermodel at a glitzy party at Socialista. Among those in attendence were fellow Afrikan model Iman, designer Diane Von Furstenberg and model-mogul Kimora Lee Simmons. Ciara also showed up for the fashion festivities and was seen taking in the BCBG Max Azaria show along with Ashley Simpson. Actress Joy Bryant attended Glamour Magazine’s “Fashion Gives Back” benefit last night. While rapper Eve was seen at the Van Kleef & Arpels French inspired theme party at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The Beyonce Experience tour has been getting great reviews despite numerous reports that the concert halls are usually only half full. I remember hearing about Mariah Carey having the same problem with her last tour but am shocked to hear of Bey having such issues at this stage in her career. Performers such as Beyonce, Janet and Ciara tend to do very well on tour because they are known for their powerhouse performances which fans generally want to see live. Such is not the case with Beyonce which is why she is rumored to be extending her tour both here and overseas.

Singer Ciara took time off from headlining the Screamfest tour to promote Rocawear’s I Will Not Lose campaign at Macys Herald Square. I cannot even feign the slightest bit of interest in this story because I really think it’s boring at this point. What are we suppose to be buying, the sob stories in these commercials of the clothes? I want to see a hot fashion spread or something from Ciara, anything except what we are getting now. Rocawear has a beautiful young woman as the face of their women’s line and yet has no idea what to do with her.

Today’s random celebrity sightings post consists of some of my favorite brown sistas. From Janet Jackson to Melyssa Ford, we have Black Women from all walks of Hollywood life covered. First up however is Keyshia Cole who held her album release party last night. Keyshia is sporting a new shorter do that I really like and it reminds me quite a bit of Rihanna’s new shorter style. Hopefully both these ladies will usher in a less in more look for celebrity sistas when it come to their hair.
