Amerie has once again seen the release date of her “In Love & War” album change- but according to singer… it’s all good. Amerie informed the public of the change herself via her Twitter page on Wednesday night and noted the importance of the new date: “Very happy w/my album date ! Got the one I wanted. So I’m officially putting it out there: In Love & War — November 3, a special date… “. Why the date is so important- we don’t know. What we do know is that Amerie once again joins a long list of females having their albums repeatedly pushed back. Teairra Mari’s “At That Point” and Mariah Carey’s “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”, are just two of the most recent high profile releases to get multiple push back dates.
Amerie’s promotion of her new album however continues. Check out her Elle Magazine spread below, and if you haven’t already- check out the second single from her upcoming album, here.
R n’ B dance diva Ciara is finally putting her Wilhelmina modeling contract to good use. The singer makes her high fashion debut in the January 2009 edition of Elle Magazine. Ciara gets a six page spread and in my opinion, she has great potential. Like many artists today Ciara chose to look outside of singing to expound on her career- but instead of throwing herself head first into acting or creating yet another clothing line- Ciara chose the world of modeling. At first many thought her choice was poorly thought out and unrealistic- however, minds may change when they see more spreads from the singer like those featured on the next page.
Actress Halle Berry was one of eight women honored last night by Elle Magazine at their 15th Annual Women in Hollywood event. Halle, along with Salma Hayek, Jane Fonda, Nicole Kidman, and others, were honored for what Elle calls their profound impact on the industry. Elle editor-in-chief Robbie Myers explained that the selection of these eight amazing women was simple: “The honorees this year are remarkable. They have pushed boundaries both on screen and on behalf of all women in Hollywood,” she said. “They have conquered this industry with grace and style, and we at Elle feel they should be commended for their contributions to this field.”
