Though it may be snowing and freezing in some states, Sasha Fierce wouldn’t be caught dead without her gold heels! But, its not just Sasha. A slew of other brown sista celebs have been spotted following this same trend at red carpet events, performances, and even while on video sets. They’re just as fierce as black heels, but these gold pairs are perfect for any upcoming holiday event.

Another day, another awards show to report about. The 2008 World Music Awards were held earlier this evening in Monte-Carlo and lots of Brown Sistas were on hand to represent. While Michelle Williams was spotted walking the red carpet and co- hosting the event, acts like Estelle, Alicia Keys, Solange and Beyonce were given the opportunity to rock the stage- and rock it they did. Beyonce opened the show with her hit Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and from there things just got better. The 2008 MTV Europe Awards were held earlier this evening and British singer Estelle, as well as Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Solange, were on hand to represent for Brown Sistas. Beyonce showed up for the awards accompanied by her sister Solange and Sasha Fierce’s robo-hand. She would later take to the stage and give a riveting performance of her new single, If I Were A Boy, which by the way dropped down to #3 on the charts this week. Estelle also performed her international smash hit American Boy, along with rapper Kanye West. Click here to check out Beyonce’s performance and here to view Estelle & Kanye’s performance. Singer Estelle dominated the MOBO Awards last night taking home the award for Best UK Female and Best Song, beating out fellow Brit hit maker Leona Lewis. The MOBO Awards (Music Of Black Origin) are the British in origin, but are voted for by the public and thus reprsent general listening trends in the UK’s Black community. “The Mobo is a great award, recognised by the kids and the people who understand my music, and who get the music that we do,” Estelle told BBC news. Other winners of the evening included Leona Lewis and former Supremes singer, Mary Wilson, who was awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award and performed a medley of Supremes hits with British girl group The Sugarbabes. Actress Gabrielle Union took time out from her busy schedule to participate at the Los Angeles Public Library’s “Jumpstart Read for the Record” event. Gabrielle is presently prepping for her role as Geneva Wade in Cadillac Records, a film that pairs her up with fellow actress Chyna Layne and singer Beyonce Knowles. In the meantime rapper Eve along with Mc Lyte, Joy Bryant, Estelle, and others, came out to show their support of hip hop legends at the 2008 VH1 Hip Hop Honors. This year’s honorees included De la Soul, Naughty By Nature and the great Slick Rick. I don’t usually do the fellas on Brown Sista but I am tempted to upload Slick Rick’s performance. The brotha was one of the baddest rappers ever and he makes me miss 80’s hip hop. Read the rest of this entry »

The 28yr old British singer recently wore a pair of the very fashionable Pierre Hardy velvet heels [w/ gold cube detailing] to her arrival at a performance she took part in, last week, in London. Nia first wore the same designer heel, in black, a few weeks prior.
* Atleast Estelle sported a different color, but who do you think wore it best?

British pop star Estelle has watched her new album, Shine, plummet down the US music charts after her record label, Warner Brothers, had it yanked from iTunes. The decision to remove the album from the download giant was apparently made to force fans to buy the entire album, rather than just singles, a move many other artists have made, including Jay-Z and most recently Kid Rock, who shares the same label as Estelle. However, turning ones back on iTunes has it’s repercussions and both Estelle’s album and single, American Boy, are feeling the effects. American Boy was in the top 10 before it’s removal on iTunes and was #11 on Billboard’s official singles chart. Read the rest of this entry »
