We all know that Ms. Nia Long is one of the best dressed black females. Always sophisticated, always sweet — so there’s no wonder as to why we always want to know, “where can I get one like that”,admiring her latest ensemble?
One of my Fashionista101 readers, Amisha, asked me where did Nia get her dress she wore to the BET Awards. I couldn’t find the same dress, so I opted for a similar draped design, in the same plum color, from Forever21. Top it off with a pair of gold rhinestone hoops, and you’re good to go.

Fab actress, Nia Long, attended the “Black And White” Gala for the Barack Obama campaign, Thursday, in Beverly Hills, California. Always one to impress, without over-doing, Nia stepped out in one of Fall’s hottest heels — the Pierre Hardy black velvet sandals with gold cube detailing [retailed at $995]! You have to see them up close! But, look at that sheen on her hair — amazing! I need some of whatever she’s using!

I love “laid-back” looks. One way to spice them up, of course, is to throw on a nice pair of heels. But, to make the look “official”, wear a bright colored jacket, with an all black ensemble. The contrast that the burst of color creates, helps you to make an amazing statement, and keep your outfit from looking dead.
* Bright jackets can also, of course, be worn with pieces besides black, but keep the “wow factor” at a minimum, since a jacket is such a large part of the outfit.

Solo was recently spotted out and about in London. She wore a strapless French Connection ‘Wizard’ dress, with trendy two-tone booties and a Fendi ‘Radica’ bag, retailed at $1,140. Lauren wore the same strapless bubble dress, with funky black laced-up Givenchy booties, at this year’s BET Awards.

The Oscar winner has worn everything from Oscar de la Renta to Donna Karan, but for the cover of her new album, which hits stores in September, Jennifer Hudson proves that she’s no fashion snob, opting for a simple $36 glitter-striped American Apparel dress. Bargain hunting’s nothing new to the “Spotlight” singer, who readily admits to an obsession with affordable British chain Topshop. But while the cotton dress may have been a bargain, when it came to accessorizing the look she went decidedly high-end, glamming it up with a $475 LAI Vamp belt. Kimora and company recently attended the launch party for her most recent line, ‘Fabulosity’. Kimmi looks fab as always, and I think she’s obsessed with those heels. They look brand new, so I’m assuming that she bought them in bulk! LOL. Okay, I’m done.
