Actress Gabrielle Union, TV One’s runner-up for the title of Sexiest Black Woman Alive, was spotted last night in Hollywood taking in the premiere of her new new “Meet Dave”. In the film Gabrielle plays one of several little people who operate an alien spaceship that resembles a human (Eddie). Gabrielle is the “Cultural Officer” and somehow the ship, Dave, becomes smitten with an Earth (white) woman (Elizabeth Banks) and blah blah blah. Meet Dave looks like it will suck monkey balls but the fact that this big black alien space craft comes to Earth and falls in love with a white woman is just too much for me to bear. Who thinks of this garbage and why do Black actors just go along with it? Stupid looking film or not- shouldn’t Elizabeth and Gabrielle’s roles been reversed?

Actress Gabrielle Union is featured on the cover of the June 30th. edition of Page Six Magazine and opens up about her career, why her marriage failed and why she blames the gossip blogs for keeping her dateless. Gabrielle, who is starring alongside Eddie Murphy is the new movie ‘Meet Dave”, continues to deny rumors that she is dating good friend Derek Jeter as well as Kid Rock and says internet gossip blogs paint her love life as being more active than it is, which she believes causes potential suitors to run the other way. Rarely talked about, Gabrielle also delves into the brutal rape and beating she endured that left her unrecognizable and hospitalized for months.

Actress Gabrielle Union is once again gracing the cover of Essence Magazine. If you all remember, the bronze beauty was also featured on the December 2007 cover with fellow actresses Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan. Gabrielle caught a lot of heat for her comments about Black gossip blogs in that edition but this time around chose to keep the conversation a lot lighter, focusing instead on her new look and sharing her workout and beauty regimen with the magazine. Gabrielle, who will be appearing in Eddie Murphy’s new movie “Meet Dave”, said of her new shorter do “I felt fierce, fierce as the devil. I can already tell that people take you more seriously when they are not distracted by long curly locks. As for her workout regimen, the actress says “It’s about getting on the path to being the person you want to be. It helps you work out your issues and find your answers, which are usually pretty logical. Half the battle is just talking it out. There’s no point having amazing shoulders or ripped abs if you don’t feel like getting out of bed everyday. I’m loving the new cuts that are coming in–up my thighs, my arms. I love my abs. I definitely have more confidence, energy and stamina.”

The UK sure does love them some Kelly Rowland. The singer has devoted quite a bit of her time over the last few weeks to promoting the re-release of her 2007 CD, Miss Kelly. This past week alone Kelly appeared on several UK television shows- including a show called Loose Women, which is suppose to be the UK version of The View. Kelly also gave a sit down interview and performed her new single Daylight.
