Singer Janelle Monáe has inked a deal with Epic Records to expand her imprint label Wondaland. Monáe will reportedly release a string of singles via artists on her roster, culminating with a collection of new material to be released later this year titled the Eephus.
The first single to be released from the newly restructured label will be ‘Classic Man,’ a soulful mid-tempo jam by new artist Jidenna. Other artists signed to Monáe’s label include Roman Gianarthur, Deep Cotton and St. Beauty, who Janelle says are all a part of a connective tissue, noting each artist was chosen to complement the other and add to their unique sound as a unit. read more » » » »

Janelle keeps her new “girly girl” routine going for the ‘Dance Apocalyptic’ visual, which was directed by the singer’s longtime creative partners Wendy Morgan and Pierre Rouger.

This song is my new obsession. As a Janelle Monae fan since I first heard her tear it up on Outkat’s single “Call the Law,” which appeared on their “Idlewild” soundtrack, I have followed this young diva’s career over the years and keep hoping that someday radio will wake up and give this beautiful sista the exposure she so desperately deserves.
Here Janelle is again, totally slaying the Fun. track “We Are Young,” which will be featured on the group’s 2012 album “Some Nights.”
