Janet Jackson to Film Netflix Reality Show
Singer Janet Jackson has inked a deal with Netflix to appear in an upcoming fly-on-the-wall type reality show.
Via a 10-episode docu-series titled Simply Janet, the 51-year old pop icon will reportedly give fans a glimpse into her life as she prepares to kick off her State of the World tour, all while juggling first-time mommy-hood and the emotional fall-out from her recent separation from third husband, Wissam Al Mana.
Miss Jackson is looking like her old self again. Almost four months after undergoing an unspecified surgery, Janet and her husband Wissam al Mana were spotted out in public together. The pair were lensed by the paparazzi as they left the Lazarides Art Gallery in London late Tuesday afternoon.
“Remember… believe it when you hear it from my lips.
The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I am recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled.
Thank you for your prayers and love.”
Rumor: Singer Janet Jackson May Be Battling Cancer
Janet Jackson is reportedly undergoing tests for throat cancer. According to online reports, doctors found a growth on the singer’s vocal chords that could be cause for concern.
As previously reported, Janet has postponed her Unbreakable World Tour until the spring. Via her social media pages Janet told fans she’d be having surgery and asked for prayers for herself, her family and oddly enough, her company.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Has a Long History of Ignoring Relevant Artists
Once again the net is all abuzz with news of Janet Jackson being snubbed by the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. This is a conversation I had not long ago with folks on Twitter, and I will say here what I said there- the public should stop giving this corrupt organization power.
Who the RRHOF chooses to induct into their private organization has nothing to do with how amazing an artist is or the impact they’ve had on their genre. You, me and several dead people know that Janet has not only consistently put out great music since 1986, but like her brother Michael, basically laid the foundation for some of today’s most popular artists- male and female.
After fans complained of having their Instagram accounts deleted for sharing clips from Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable tour, the singer took to social media to apologize for the mishap, and to assure everyone it was never her intention to have Instagram react in such a heavy-handed way.
“My team is passionate about protecting the intellectual property we are creating for the tour and possible future projects,” Janet wrote via Facebook. “It was never their intention, acting on my behalf, to have social media accounts removed.”
Janet Jackson’s #1 Albums Span Four Decades
With her latest number one album, her seventh overall, singer Janet Jackson joins only a handful of artists to chart number one albums in each of the last four decades.
With sales of just over 116,000 copies, Janet’s Unbreakable album has helped the singer secure a spot in history alongside Barbara Streisand and Bruce Springsteen, the only other artists to also accomplish the feat.
Singer Janet Jackson is back on top. The forty-nine year old pop veteran’s latest album Unbreakable is set to debut at number one on next week’s Billboard Hot 100.
According to industry estimates, Unbreakable, which was leaked earlier this week, but officially released yesterday, is set to assume pole position with sales of around 100,000.
This will be Janet’s seventh number one album of her career, joining previous releases Control (1986), Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), Janet (1993), The Velvet Rope (1997), All For You (2001) and Discipline (2008).
Sexlines by Janet Jackson Springs a Leak
Withe her Unbreakable album just days away from release, is it any wonder all sorts of unreleased Janet Jackson tracks are now being leaked online.
Such is the case with Sexlines, a single that popped up on Sound Cloud a few hours ago. The tune is not a part of the Unbreakable tracklist, and no one seems to know where it came from or how old it is.
The song definitely sounds new to me, and was probably something Janet decided to leave on the cutting room floor. Too bad. It’s actually a pretty good tune. It would have made a great bonus track for Target, Walmart, or fans like myself who pre-ordered the album.
