Jill Marie Jones in Ash vs Evil Dead Promo Pics
Former Girlfriendss actress Jill Marie Jones has landed a new role on the Starz horror-fest Ash vs Evil Dead. Along with a newly released gory trailer for the show, are promo pics of Jill as Detective Amanda Fisher.
Unlike the previous trailer (where if you blinked you would have easily missed Jill) the new one features a lot more of Jill’s character, including a few scenes which I have to warn you, are not very pleasant to watch.
Black Actresses May Not Be Making Strides in Hollywood After All
Remember earlier this year when we were inundated on an almost daily basis with news of black actress after black actress being picked to lead or co-lead new shows this fall season? Well, now that promo for many of those shows have kicked off, I am starting to see a disturbing trend.
Back in May networks held their Upfront events where they attempt to convince advertisers to support their shows. It was then we got our first look at Quantico, a new police drama from ABC. The Hollywood Reporter, and many other sites, reported Aunjanue Ellis as having landed the Female Lead. However, one look at Quantico’s trailer shows that to be absolutely false.
Actress Jill Marie Jones has found a new gig. The former Girlfriends castmate will star alongside Laura Harring and Oded Fehr in the Nancy Kissam written and directed dark comedy, Drool. The film revolves around Harring, who plays an abused wife who plans to run away with her best friend- played by Jill. Their plans however go awry when Harring accidentally kills her husband (Oded Fehr), leading the two to drive the body cross country. Drool was the winner of the 2006 Slamdance screenplay competition and is presently in post production- with a tentative release date set for the Spring of 2009.
Actress Jill Marie Jones donned her best Pochahantes costume and joined pro basketabll player Cuttino Mobley to host the Labor Day Classic fundraising party, a benefit that raises funds for the Philly Cat Foundation and United Friends of the Children. The bronze beauty, who can currently be seen in Ice Cube’s family flick, The Long Shots, is also scheduled to appear in the 2009 film, Drool and recently launched her own website, Jill Marie Jones Online. Speaking about her new venture, the actress said she wanted to give her fans a way to “stay in constant with her” and be updated on her future projects. Besides that, you can also seek beauty advice from the one time model and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, who says she will personally answer all inquiries.
