Brown Sista

As previously reported, singer Jill Scott and actress Gabrielle Union, are the newest Brown Sistas to pose for Allure Magazine’s annual “Go Naked” issue. Allure editor Linda Wells says their hugely popular feature is not meant to objectify women, but rather to celebrate women and various shapes of the female body. And it appears many Hollywood women are in agreement as Jill and Gabrielle join a long list of Brown Sistas who have also taken it off for the magazine, including Vanessa Williams, Serena Williams, and Kelly Rowland.

Singer and budding actress, Jill Scott, is now venturing into the clothing market, teaming up with Ashley Stewart to bring her own line of intimate apparel to the the store’s 220 locations. “The Butterfly Collection” will be tailored to the plus size woman and will feature the “Butterfly Bra”, which was designed specifically by Jill to serve not only her own needs but the needs of those women whom she says have a “larger than average” cup size. Look for the “Butterfly Collection” to float into Ashley Stewart stores nationwide this summer.

Singer Jill Scott has been making a lot of noise lately with reports of a new romance, new movie and an upcoming appearance in Allure Magazine’s annual “Nude Issue”. After being photographed recently with her “Why Did I Get Married? co-star, Lamman Rucker, the internet went wild with reports that the two were now a couple off screen- reports Jill has not and probably will not confirm. Lamman however is said not to be the only man in Jill’s life, as Page Six is reporting that after Jill finished her nude photo shoot with Allure she took a liking to one of the hunky (who says hunky but yt folks) Latin male models and was seen dining out with him at the famous eatery Nobu. And as for Jill’s nude pics, the singer says:

With a giggle she divulges further, “I did a nude photo shoot two days ago for Allure, which I loved. It was so empowering and after it was all done, I was congratulated by staff members of Allure for breaking the mold.”

Jill Scott’s new video to her single My Love is here and just like Jill it is beautiful and understated. Jill’s videos always fit in perfectly with her songs as they force you to actually pay attention to the lyrics. Jill’s new album hits stores Sept 12th. and everyone really should pick it up. When I’m alone and just want to relax and be at ease I always put on someone like India.Arie or Jill Scott, two beautiful but very underrated Brown Sistas.
