Kelis Cooks Up a Little Something Extra for Fans
With an album titled “Food” and songs like “Biscuits n’ Gravy,” is it any wonder Kelis has decided to release her very own cookbook?
The soulful singer has been flexing her culinary muscle for a while now, having graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in 2008 with the certified title of saucier.
Since then, Kelis has hosted her own show on the Cooking Channel (Saucy & Sweet), released her own line of sauces (Bounty & Full), and even opened her own food truck to cook for attendees at the SXSW Music Festival.
Over the weekend Kelis premiered the video for Brave, the 4th single from her Flesh Tone album. The singer once again chose to work with Rankin, who directed the videos for her previous singles “Acapella”, “Scream” and “4th of July (Fireworks).”
The video for Kelis’ new single “Scream” premiered yesterday via UK music station The Box. Like several other tracks from the singer’s “Flesh Tone” album, Scream was produced by French DJ David Guetta and features his trademark electro-pop sound.
“Flesh Tone” continues to do respectable numbers overseas, while the U.S. just refuses to hop on board of what truly is an amazing dance album.
