This year’s BET Awards was a total fashion let down. Overall, few sistas really stood out to me, and the one sista who I really expected to show out, Rihanna, was the biggest let down of them all. Her yellow sun dress seemed inappropriate for the occasion and the black goth dress she wore for her performance may have been a stunner, but it disappeared into the background of her set and thus it too was a let down. The night’s other big disappointment was Keyshia Cole’s red carpet dress. What was she wearing? It looked like a big yellow balloon. Keyshia is so gorgeous and has a fabulous figure. If she just found the right stylist I believe she could become a urban fashion icon, ala Mary J. Blige in the early days of her career.
Keyshia did however redeem herself with her performance outfit. I loved the big puffy wrap skirt and I loved the white shorts jumpsuit that was worn underneath and revealed when the wrap was taken off. That jumpsuit and those thigh high boot were fierce. Keyshia totally looked amazing and it was my favorite outfit of the night.

The “If Looks Could Kill” campaign combines digital and real-world gaming components centered around a new Web site developed by Burrell Communications Group, Toyota’s Black marketing communications AOR, and agency partner 42 Entertainment. The site includes a series of videos that feature a resourceful fashion designer and Camry driver involved in an espionage plot. Users can navigate within the 3D scene to play along with the adventure, picking up clues to assist the main character, and potentially winning 1,000 prizes over the course of the campaign. Singer
Keyshia Cole performed on day 2 (April 26) of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival- and though rainfall cleared the crowd out by quite a bit, Keyshia still took the stage and looks like she put on quite a show.
