Brown Sista

Actress Malinda Williams, who will always be “Bird” to me, is set to co-star alongside Tracey Morgan, Jessical Beil and Jake Gyllenhaal in the romantic comedy “Nailed”. The film of course revolves around Beil, who plays a waitress who gets a nail accidentally lodged in her head causing unpredictable behavior that leads her to Washington, DC, where sparks fly when she meets a clueless young senator who takes up her cause. Malinda will play Beil’s best friend or someone else none too important to the film and Morgan will play the dumb Negro who embarrasses us all. Nailed is presently in post production but has a tentative release date of summer 2009.

Sistas and tattoos- where do I start? Much like 10 inch nails and purple hair- tattoos are the newest thing sistas have decided to overdo. I swear we as a people are like peacocks- we like to be seen.We are flashy and don’t get me wrong this can sometimes be a good thing. However when overdone we often end up looking like fools and such is the case with sistas and their multiple tattoos.
I remember back in the day when all women had the same tattoo- a delicate little rose on the ankle. That was back when ladies wanted to be a little edgy, a little sexy, but still feminine. Well the times sure are a changin’- but for sista’s mostly. Black women can now be seen sportin’ tattoos on their breasts, thighs, arms, and even their necks. What kind of woman gets a tattoo on her neck?

I thought Beyonce was still in Japan on tour but it appears the sista took some time off to fly back home and have a girls night out with her fellow BFFs Tyra Banks, , Kimora Lee Simmons and Jessica White. Of course Jay was there too but with such beauty taking up the front row of last night’s Knicks vs. Nets game, I doubt anyone noticed him. Check out the sistas having the time of their lives below, and notice how they seem to be doing everything but watching the game. They are talking, laughing, checking out each others hair, clothes and nails. Kimora is even giving Bey and Tyra a spritz of her new perfume. I guess that’s just what happens when you take a group of fashion divas out for a boring night of basketball. Sistas gotta find a way to pass the time somehow.
