Former Destiny’s Childsinger LaTavia Roberson has enjoyed her time away from the limelight. Back in 2000, during the midst of a whirlwind promotional tour for their sophomore album ‘The Writing’s on the Wall,’ Roberson and LeToya Luckett attempted to sever their management agreement with Mathew Knowles. They claimed Beyonce’s father favored his daughter and that he was keeping too much of the group’s profits.

Roberson and Luckett were then ousted from the group, replaced in their “Say My Name” music video with Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin who lip-synched to their background vocals. The two founding members then sued father and daughter Knowles, as well as group member Kelly Rowland. Both parties slung dirt during a back-and-forth media blitz, but the lawsuits ended up being settled out of court and Roberson and Luckett were said to have made a pretty penny. A non-disclosure agreement prohibits them from discussing the settlement.

Despite claims from Rowland and Knowles that Roberson and Luckett couldn’t sing, the two formed a new group called Anjel-right around the same time that Destiny’s Child kicked Franklin out of the group and became a tri0. Signed to a production deal with Jagged Edge, the group’s failure to launch caused them to disband. Luckett embarked on a solo music career and Roberson decided to retreat and do some soul searching.

Access Hollywood went on the set to talk to Janet Jackson as she shoots her new video for her hit single “Call On Me” featuring Nelly.Here are the screen captures from the interview and Janet’s video is scheduled to air on Access Hollywood July 26th.

India.Arie earns her first No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with Universal Motown’s “Testimony: Vo. 1, Life & Relationship.” The set sold 161,000 copies in its first week in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the singer’s best sales week yet. Her last album, 2002’s “Voyage To India,” debuted at No. 6 with 109,000.

Sales may have been aided in part by the artist’s appearance at the BET Awards last Tuesday (June 27) during a tribute to Chaka Khan.

Dashboard Confessional also scores its biggest sales week as it bows at No. 2 with “Dusk and Summer.” The Vagrant release moved 134,000 units, besting the debut week of 2004’s “A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar” by 12,000 (though it also entered at No. 2).

Ms Jackson has definitely been making rounds lately and once again she was spotted with her longtime beau, Jermaine Dupri, at Nelly’s Black & White Ball.

We here at Brownsista are big fans of Janet’s but we cannot help but be concerned at how rough she looks lately.She seems to have aged quite a bit in the last few weeks alone and the vein in the middle of her forehead has become almost a permanent fixture in her photos as of late.

It seems Janet is everywhere these days and more images from her forthcoming video “Call On Me” have been released.The image below was captured from a clip on Entertainment Tonight and seems to continue the Arabic/East Indian look of the previous photo released from the shoot.The song also features Nelly and is directed by Hype Williams.

Finally putting rumors to rest, Ashanti appeared publically for the first time in weeks with her beau Nelly at his annual Black & White gala.Ashanti looked stunning in a black sequined gown, and Mr. Nelly was no slouch himself.Brown Sista salutes this beautiful young couple.
