Singer
Beyonce Knowles was spotted earlier today on the set of her new movie “Obsessed”. As
previously reported, Beyonce plays the role of a loving wife and mother whose life is turned upside when her husband is stalked by an obsessive office temp. The film is still in the early stages of filming and also star actor Idris Elba and Ali Landry, who was a regular on

Beyonce Knowles, Ali Larter and Idris Elba will star in “Obsessed,” a thriller that Screen Gems will put into production this summer. Steve Shill will direct a script by David Loughery. Will Packer produces, and Knowles will be exec producer along with her father, Mathew Knowles. Screen Gems topper Clint Culpepper is finalizing cast deals, working with Knowles’ and Larter’s reps to iron out scheduling kinks. Knowles is also producing and co-starring as Etta James in “Cadillac Records” for Sony BMG; Larter is working on episodes of NBC’s “Heroes. “In “Obsessed,” Elba will play an asset manager who has a knockout wife (Knowles) and thriving career until a temp office worker (Larter) begins stalking him. Knowles was last seen onscreen in “Dreamgirls,” Larter in the Screen Gems films “Resident Evil: Extinction” and “Final Destination,” and Elba last appeared in “American Gangster.” He next stars in “Prom Night” for Screen Gems.

It appears Lil Mama’sLip Gloss anthem is having an affect on not only young women, but cosmetic counters across the country as well. Neither MAC or Loreal will release numbers, but word is both companies have seen a spike in sales since the teenage rapper’s catchy summer anthem was released earlier this year. So my question is, how many ladies here will admit to tossing out their lipstick in favor of lip gloss, all because of this song?

When it comes to films in general, there are never enough roles for women on the screen, let enough leading roles, or roles for African American women, but so far this year, we have seen a good share of prominent roles go to Black women. While Halle Berry is the only one to have a leading role in “Perfect Stranger”, some supporting roles were given with Meagan Good in “Stomp The Yard”, Thandie Newton in “Norbit”, Gabrielle Union in “Daddy’s Little Girls”, S. Epatha Merkerson in “Black Snake Moan”, Kimberly Elise in “Pride”, Jada Pinkett Smith in “Reign Over Me”, Nia Long in “Are We Done Yet?”, Tracie Thoms and Sydney Tamaii Poitier in “Grindhouse”, Vivica A. Fox in “The Salon”, and Victoria Rowell in “Home of the Brave”.
