Why is it singers want to act and actors want to sing? It seems everyone is looking to diversify these days and Ciara is no different. The dance diva has landed a part in the film adaptation of the stage play Mama, I Want To Sing. Ciara will play the lead character who rises from singing in her father’s church choir to super stardom. For those of you old to know to remember, Desiree Coleman first made this role popular and possesses an impressive five octave range. Patti Labelle, who first introduced Desiree to the world over twenty years ago will also star in the film, as well actress Lyn Whitfield who played Josephine Baker in the HBO special.

It has been a very hectic week you guys but I have finally found time to not only update the gallery but to also bring you some very exclusive images that you will not see anywhere else- at least until tomorrow- lol. As you all know it has been a very busy week in Hollywood for our celebrity sistas. Rihanna has been guest hosting TRL. Kelly Rowland had her album pushed back yet again, and word is Jermaine Dupri is trying to bring three- ok two, of the biggest names in music together- Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey- and some rapper name Nelly. But to get right into what this post is about, we will start things off with actress Meagan Good. The pic to your upper left is a few months old as I believe it was taken when she stopped by the CW11 Network to promote Stomp The Yard. Still, she looks absolutely gorgeous and remember, you saw these gems here first.

Eve: The Last Female Rapper. Was I dream-ing? Nope. That’s what the promotional flier said. How could that be? How could rap music, an art form that isn’t even 40 years old yet, end up with only one female MC left? Well to be honest- the producers of these fliers were taking great liberties by calling Eve the last female rapper. She isn’t so much the last as she is the only one that hasn’t released an album lately that flopped. Eve has been MIA from the rap scene for a while now, but if my memory serves me correctly- her last album didn’t exactly set the world on fire. Still, the idea that Eve was the last female MC left got me to wondering where exactly did all the female rappers go?

As many of you know there have been rumors circulating for a while now that this season would be the last for the show Girlfriends. Monday’s show was billed as the season finale while others believe it was the series finale. Whatever the case may be, last night’s episode was definitely one to remember. Joan finally got the proposal she had been lusting after since the show began almost eight years ago. William and Monica reunited and Maya and Darnell purchased a home and moved back to the old neighborhood.

Andrea Kelly saunters into the room with her stiletto boots clicking, her shoulder-length curls bouncing; she’s sparkling like the crystal hoops dangling from her ears. Despite her famous last name, few in the room know who she is. She’s used to that. Andrea has been ignored before, like in those posh stores near Chicago’s Gold Coast or in Los Angeles, where burly bouncers blocked her from crossing the velvet ropes—that is, until the gatekeeper found out who she was. Then it was “Oops.†Disbelief turned to immediate accommodation. And then came the apologies, “Sorry, Mrs. Kelly.†But mostly it’s, “I didn’t know he had a wife.”
