Mary J. Blige Expected To Top 600k In First Week Sales
Holy Guacamole! Mary J. Blige is clearly “That Chick”. According to one day sales reports from Hits Daily Double, Mary’s new CD, Growing Pains, is on pace to sale about 600,000 copies in it’s first week. That number however is not enough to take the top spot as some guy named Josh Groban is expected to top the charts with his Noel CD, which is expected to exceed 700,000 in it’s 4th. week of release. Still, grabbing the number two position on the charts is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you do it with such phenomenal numbers. Many didn’t think Mary would have as much success with Growing Pains as she did with The Breakthrough, mainly because the first single did not get as much buzz. I guess they were wrong. Me also thinks Mary isn’t so sad about losing out on Umbrella. After all, that single only helped Rihanna sell a 140k in her first week of release.
