Monique Lhuillier gowns, Zac Posen dresses, Cartier jewels, and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. What could make any celeb-fashion event better? — Music! Condé Nast’s 5th Annual ‘Fashion Rocks’ concert took place last night @ NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. Celebeauties like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Solange, Mariah, Mary J, and much more performed, but the biggest attraction was, of course, the fashion.

According to Hits Daily Double, Solange Knowles’ latest CD, Solo Angel & The Hadley Stree Dreams, will not make the top ten on next week’s Billboard albums charts. As many of you know, HDD is the bible of the music industry when it comes to early reports on album chart positions and is the source many websites and news organizations, including Billboard Magazine, turn to for daily updates on how newly released albums are selling across the country. Solange has been on a promotional blitz for the last few weeks in support of her CD, and has acquired quite a following of rabid fans who like her in your face style and lyrics. Unfortunately, none of her singles were picked up by Pop or R n’ B stations and both BET and MTV have largely ignored her videos.

Two thirds of Destiny’s Child plus one sister, were back together again as Beyonce and Mama Tina showed up to the J&R Music Festival to show their support for Michelle Williams and Solange Knowles, who were both making their solo debuts at the event. Held in City Hall Park, the festival attracted a large crowd of about 5,000 people, who also showed up to see Terrence Howard and festival veteran, Lyfe Jennings, perform as well. Beyonce kept a low profile as her sister and fellow bandmate rocked the New York City crowd and most of the financial district. Anyone who has been to this festival knows the coolest place to watch is actually from the office buildings windows, which are usually crowded with people sneaking away from their cubicles to get a glance at the musicians performing.

Solo was recently spotted out and about in London. She wore a strapless French Connection ‘Wizard’ dress, with trendy two-tone booties and a Fendi ‘Radica’ bag, retailed at $1,140. Lauren wore the same strapless bubble dress, with funky black laced-up Givenchy booties, at this year’s BET Awards.

Designer Georgio Armani announced today that singer-songwriter Solange Knowles would be their new Global Ambassador for Armani Jeans. Global Ambassador- sounds like a fancy way of calling the sista a spokesperson. This reminds me of the time my friend referred to her laundry room as a fabric care center (lol). Anyway- Solange’s duties as Global Ambassador include wearing the jeans while promoting her album during her European promotional tour, which is due to kick off in early September. Giorgio Armani said in a statement about the singer, “Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool fashion sensibility. Solange epitomizes this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, I Decided.
