Fab actress, Nia Long, attended the “Black And White” Gala for the Barack Obama campaign, Thursday, in Beverly Hills, California. Always one to impress, without over-doing, Nia stepped out in one of Fall’s hottest heels — the Pierre Hardy black velvet sandals with gold cube detailing [retailed at $995]! You have to see them up close! But, look at that sheen on her hair — amazing! I need some of whatever she’s using!

The beauty that is Halle Berry was spotted leaving her dentist’s office in L.A. I love her new laid-back looks. They’re very comfy, yet chic. To get a dress similar to Halle’s, try a Graham & Twill halter dress [$214]. On her arm is one of her fave Versace bags — the Puckered Leather Hobo [$3,440].
She’s also rocking the new ‘tribal-inspired’ sandals look!

R&B songbird, Keyshia Cole, was spotted @ Mr. Chow, making a glamorous entrance at the Interscope and A&M records “Creme of the Crop” BET Awards afterparty.
She looked super-cute, and summer-ready in this colorful number. I’m sort’a tired of seeing the whole high-waisted pants trend, but Keyshia def pulled off the look — rocking a tucked-in flowy yellow tube top, hot pink belt and mary-jane pumps, with a Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolor ‘Speedy 30′ bag, [valued a $2,170]. And, she topped it all off with a bright blue eye shadow. I love it!

Elise Neal, who happens to be one of my favorite actresses, was spotted last night attending the Ed Hardy store opening at the Beverly Center in Beverly Hills. Aside from the constant rumors of her playing Karrine Steffans in a film adaptation of her book, Video Vixen, and her occasional pictorials in men’s magazines, not much else is seen or heard of Elise. Oddly enough, Elise appeared recently in King Magazine and her pics did not cause the uproar or outrage I expected it to. Elise looked gorgeous as always. However pics of her tied up and looking kidnapped turned my stomach a bit. I am all for fantasy and dress up but two types of male fantasies constantly depicted in men’s magazines kinda leave me scratching my head.

Not much of anything went down over the weekend as everyone was off for the holidays enjoying time with their families. However, before they ran off to the relatives many Brown Sistas continued to do what they do -entertain. Rihanna continued on with her concert, Beyonce supported her man and Missy Elliott and a few others showed their support by showing up for the Angie Martinez Hair & Beauty Expo that I told you guys about a few weeks ago. The expo was suppose to be hosted by Queen Latifah and Meagan Good, Keyshia Cole, Eve and a few others were suppose to be in attendance.

So I am sitting back reading my new issue of Vibe Magazine, which always arrives late, and lo and behold I see a new promo ad for Dereon Girls. No big deal- I keep reading. After a second look at the magazine and the ad I noticed something very oh-my-god-ish. Take a look at the ad to your right and see if you see it too? Did you spot it? It’s the shoes! Look at the boots the 2 little girls have on in that ad. Those boots are so not fit to be worn by a child the age of the child in the ad or any youngster for that matter. Still, I love them. They are so hot. Little girls aren’t suppose to be hot though so I gotta give Dereon Girls a thumbs down for this look. Also, as a mother of a ten year old girl I can tell you that young girls clothing over the years has gotten extremely inappropriate. Clothing for pre-teens are as tight, hip hugging and revealing as clothing for grown women. I have even seen thongs for little girls and you know that ain’t right. So on one level I can look at the ad and the clothing and think the kids are cute in a “dress up like my mama kind of way”. However, if these are actual clothing and shoes from the Dereon Girls line, I will not be supporting it. Dereon Girls needs to look more girl-ish and less woman-ish or this line will go the way of their high end Dereon line- down the toilet.
