Singer Ciara continues to criss-cross the country celebrating her twenty-second birthday with a five city tour. Last night Ciara touched down in New York City and kept the party going at the Runway. Besides shaking her groove thang, Ciara continued to field questions about her relationship with 50 Cent, who is rumored to have given the singer a fifteen karat “friendship” ring. Look for Ciara to wrap up her birthday tour in the next few days with a celebration in Miami and then two in the Bahamas. After that Ciara will hit the road for several touring dates throughout Europe, where she will be the opening act for Rihanna.

Janet Jackson, Tasha Smith, Jill Scott and Sharon Leal have a lot of celebrating to do tonight as their movie, Why Did I Get Married, has officially been certified the #1 movie in America. Apparently no one thought Tyler Perry and his ensemble cast of d-list (yeah someone actually said that) actors could take the #1 spot, especially when going up against a new film starring Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix. They obviously underestimated the power of the Black female dollar and Tyler Perry in general. Not only do sistas generally turn out to support one another but we drag our boyfriends and husbands along with us. It should also be noted that three of Tyler Perry’s four films have all opened at #1. So why does America keep underestimating this man and us? Who cares really. We came, we supported, we took the top spot. Btw, I saw the film earlier today and loved it. Did any of you guys see it and if so what did you think?

Rihanna’s upcoming Good Girl Gone Bad tour has been extended and singer Ciara will be joining her. Extra dates throughout Europe have been added to the schedule and Ciara has landed the coveted spot of opening act. Now news of Ciara opening for Rihanna is already making waves, as many wonder why Ciara, who has sold more copies of her new CD than Rihanna has, would open for Rihanna rather than the other way around. And though it does seem a tab bit odd at first glance, Ciara will only be opening for Rihanna overseas where Rihanna is by far the bigger star. However, regardless of who is opening for who, I think it’s great to see two sistas hit the road together and I’m sure fans of both of these ladies will feel the same.

Singers Alicia Keys, Beyonce and LeToya Luckett were all spotted over the weekend taking in various events and just enjoying their down time. Bey was spotted out with Jay- just having dinner. While Alicia and LeToya spent their time supporting human interest projects. First up however is Bey, who was spotted in Manhattan rocking those brass knuckle boots Rihanna wore a few months back when she appeared on 106 & Park. Bey’s version however ups the scare factor by adding spikes to the front. God help the man that gets into a confrontation with a woman wearing these boots. These things are sexy and yet scary at the same time (lol).

1. Actress Regina Hall, who was last seen on the small screen playing a lawyer on the hit Fox comedy, Ally McBeal, will be heading back to a television near you, as the sista has been tapped to play Cedric The Entertainer’s wife in a new ABC pilot. The show will revolve around a family man (Cedric) who has always been the proud breadwinner and has difficulty adjusting when his wife’s (Hall) hobby turns into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. 2. Keyshia Cole continues to make the rounds of all the music stations promoting her new CD, Just Like You, which is heading to the top of next week’s album charts according to Hits Daily Double. Keyshia stopped by The Fuse in New York City on Thursday afternoon and showed up for the interview looking quite spiffy. I haven’t always been a fan of Keyshia’s ultra blond short bob but somehow it has managed to grow on me. And while many sistas are opting to go darker, at this point I really cannot imagine Keyshia with anything but blond hair. 3. Actress Meagan Good was spotted out on the town sporting her signature nameplate earrings, drawn on eyebrows and the best darn accessory any woman can have- her man. Meagan also seems to be showcasing a new do which I really like. Thanks to Rihanna, dark hair seems to be making comeback with celebrity sistas and not a moment too soon if you ask me. 4. Last up is my girl Sanaa Lathan who made a rare public appearance and showed up for Us Magazine’s Hot Hollywood Party. Sanaa recently wrapped up a spectacular season on Nip Tuck, playing the vivacious Michelle Landau. Look for Sanaa next to make television history playing opposite Sean “Diddy” Combs, Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad in the televised version of A Raisin In The Sun which is being produced by Oprah Winfrey and is scheduled to air directly after the 2008 Oscar telecast.
