Keke Palmer Joins ‘Star’ Cast
Star, the Empire spin-off that debuted last season to somewhat tepid ratings, is adding yet another high profile name to their season two roster. According to published reports, Keke Palmer has booked a recurring role on the musical drama, which stars Queen Latifah, Ryan Destiny, Jude Demorest, and Benjamin Bratt.
Actress Ryan Destiny Covers Kode Magazine
Ryan Destiny is covering the latest edition of Kode magazine. The 22-year old model turned actress is currently celebrating the season two renewal of her Star series on Fox. Despite a shaky start, the network believed in the show enough to grant it an additional thirteen episodes for its sophomore season, and a coveted timeslot behind Empire when it returns in the fall. For her cover story, Destiny recounts hearing of the show’s early renewal, calling it both a “surprise” and “a blessing.”
Missy Elliott to Appear on ‘Star’
Missy Elliott has landed a role on the Fox series Star. The struggling Empire spin-off has booked the rapper in a recurring role where she essentially plays herself: a recording artist and music producer. Pumpkin, Missy’s character, will have an extended arc that should begin around the mid-season mark and extend until the end of the season. Missy will also perform on several episodes and contribute original songs to the show’s upcoming soundtrack.
