Heather Headley Heads Back to Broadway

According to published reports, singer Heather Headley has been tapped to star in the Broadway remake of the 1992 hit film “The Bodyguard.”

Heather, probably best known for her smash hit “I Wish I Wasn’t,” is no stranger to the stage, having starred in several plays (Aida, The Lion King) and won numerous awards, including a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical.

Heather reportedly read for the role last month and was recently offered the part, despite rumors of X Factor winner Alexandra Burke also having an interest in the part.

The new production, which will run in London first, is said to feature a somewhat different storyline, but will keep several of the musical numbers made famous by Whitney Houston.
