In a sudden turn of events, Toni Braxton and Babyface have decided to delay their ‘Love, Marriage & Divorce’ album until 2014.
Once scheduled for release on December 3rd, the album will now be released on February 4th, just in time for the Valentine’s Day gift-giving season.
‘Hurt You’, the pair’s first duet together in almost 20 years, is a bonafide Adult Contemporary radio hit according to Billboard, peaking at #3, and marking Babyface’s return to the charts after an almost eight year hiatus. read more » » » »
Toni Braxton and Babyface’s new Love, Marriage & Divorce CD has officially gotten a cover image and new release date.
Once scheduled to be unveiled on December 3rd, the pair have now moved the release date up by a week to November 25th. They have also revealed the cover, which I have posted up top. The album title, which was rumored to undergo a name change, only got an “&” added to it, which I think is pretty sad. I believe a more upbeat title would have been a better choice.
Toni was asked about the title in a recent interview with Rollingstone and had this to say: “I think because Babyface and I have both gone through divorces, we can relate and we can collaborate together on this topic and make it so others who have gone through this situation can relate as well.”
My favorite family TV reality series is almost ready to make its return.
The third season of Braxton Family Values is due to return in November and WeTV promises it will be the most exciting to date.
Toni is officially un-retired. Tamar is learning to balance motherhood and work. Trina is still contemplating divorcing Gabe. Towanda is celebrating turning 40 by taking it all off and poor Traci is just learning that her husband may have fathered a child she knew nothing about.
All that and more is featured in the newly released clip below.
Singer Toni Braxton used her Instagram account over the weekend to unveil another promo shot from her upcoming duets album with longtime collaborator Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmomds.
The project, tentatively titled Love, Marriage, Divorce, is expected to be released December 3rd and features the new Adult Contemporary smash Hurt You.
Toni recently wrapped up the first leg of her theatre tour and is expected to announce new dates in the coming weeks, include several oversees in the Canada, Germany and the U.K.
During a Grammy Q&A session over the weekend, Toni talked about touring again; saying future dates will include quite a few surprises. When pressed for details, Toni admitted her sisters, including Tamar, may join her for a few “special performances.”
Toni Braxton and longtime producer Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds are taking their collaborative musical endeavors to Broadway.
According to published reports, both have signed on for a two-week stint in After Midnight, an upcoming Broadway musical tribute to Harlem’s legendary Cotton Club.
The show starts previews October 18th at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, with an official opening date set for November 13th.
Reprising the Cotton Club tradition of guest headliners, After Midnight will kick off with Fantasia, followed by k.d. lang, then Babyface and Toni.
Additional guest spots will be announced later on.
As for Toni and Bayface’s new single and upcoming duets album, both are shaping up quite nicely. During a Grammy Q&A session earlier this week, Babyface said the album is “pretty much finished” and has a tentative release date of December 3rd.
Their new single, Hurt You, according to Billboard is also doing well. The song debuted at #17 on the Adult Contemporary R&B charts and two weeks later moved into the top 10.
Toni has been on the road promoting her material and plans to resume her successful theatre tour in November.
According to the singer’s rep, the 45-year old R&B diva and star of WeTV reality series ‘Braxton Family Values,’ has ended her 12-year marriage to Mint Condition keyboardist Keri Lewis.
Toni and Keri met while on tour in 1995 and married three years later. The couple had two sons together, Denim and Diezel, before separating in 2009.
In an October appearance on “VH1 Behind the Music,” Toni said her split with Lewis had reverberating effects. “I had to figure out a plan for my life that had nothing to do with him,” she said. “I was angry with everybody. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one.”
Despite their split, Keri and Toni continued to work together musically, most recently on Toni’s 2012 single ‘I Heart You.’
