Tamar Braxton Signs to eOne Music
Singer Tamar Braxton has left Epic Records. According to Billboard, Tamar, 40, has signed a new deal with eOne Music to release her upcoming fifth solo album. Tamar’s previous three albums: Calling All Lovers, Winter Loversland and Love and War were all released in conjunction with Streamline Records, a boutique label distributed by Interscope and owned in part by Tamar’s husband Vincent Herbert.
With three labels picking apart her earnings before she saw a dime, is it any wonder Tamar chose to seek out greener pastures. In recent years eOne Music has become the go-to label for artists looking to escape the stranglehold of traditional labels. Tamar’s new labelmates include fellow R&B veterans Kelly Price, Ashanti, Faith Evans, Michelle Williams, SWV, and even her sister Traci who signed with eOne in 2013.
Tamar is reportedly still hard at work on her new album, but recently told Wendy Williams her single would be coming out before the summer.
